Strengthening collaboration for resilient communities.

This morning, provincial and local government leaders gathered at ATKV Goudini Spa, Rawsonville, for the Combined MinMAY and MinMAY Tech meeting to engage on key priorities, including preparations for the 2026 Local Government Elections and strengthening disaster resilience across the Western Cape.

Working together, we continue to coordinate efforts that support municipalities, improve service delivery, and build safer, more responsive communities.

When flooding starts, move to higher ground immediately.

Avoid lowโ€‘lying areas and never try to cross flowing water.

Your quick decision could save a life โ€” maybe even your own.

๐Ÿš—๐ŸŒŠ Flooded roads are dangerous.

Just 30 cm of moving water can float a car and sweep it away.

Donโ€™t risk your life โ€” turn around and find a safer route.

Thusong Outreach Programme Comes to George Municipality

The Thusong Outreach Programme will be held in George Municipality on 10 and 11 June 2026 at the Pacaltsdorp Community Hall.

This important initiative brings government services closer to the people, making it easier, especially for vulnerable communities, to access essential support and information.

Residents will receive assistance with:

โ€ข Social grant applications and registration
โ€ข ID and document applications
โ€ข Health screenings
โ€ข Job seeking and employment support services

Community members will also have the opportunity to engage directly with representatives from various government departments, helping to improve communication and service delivery.

This programme aims to remove barriers such as distance, lack of information, and other challenges that often prevent people from accessing services.

Event Details:

Date: 10 and 11 June 2026 (Wednesday and Thursday)
Time: 09:00 to 15:00
Venue: Pacaltsdorp Community Hall, George

We encourage all residents of Pacaltsdorp and the surrounding areas to attend and take advantage of these services.
