We were honoured to host World Play Day at Retreat library! 🎉📚

The children had an unforgettable day filled with fun, creativity, and adventure alongside LiBee, Sharkspotters, Sports and Recreation, Metro World Kids, and Community, Arts and Culture Development.

From imaginative fantasy play with the toy library to colourful face painting, and exciting outdoor activities. There was something for everyone to enjoy.

A special thank you to our colleagues, ECD centres, partners, and staff who helped make the day so memorable for the children and our community. ✨

We are thrilled to announce that Retreat Library has been selected among the Top 10 in the South African Library Week Display Awards 2026💃🏼💃🏼

This recognition is a celebration of the creativity, hard work, and teamwork that went into our display and we couldn’t have done it alone🏆🎖️

A huge thank you to our amazing library staff for their dedication and passion in bringing our vision to life. Your efforts continue to inspire our community.

Throwback to our after school program, we kicked things off with a storytelling session that had the children sharing laughs and asking all kinds of questions.

After that, we moved outside for the dough cooking competition. The outdoor kitchen came alive as the children rolled, shaped, and baked their creations, each one more creative than the last.

The children had so much fun and so did we 😀.
