Petroleum Agency SA congratulates Dr. Mimi Mokoele, Prof. Musa Manzi and the entire GeoScan Research team under Phase 2 of the Shale Gas Programme, for completing one of the biggest onshore in the world, supported by -Magnetotelluric and Magnetic data aquisitions in the . The team took 10 months to complete all surveys across six district Municipalities in the Western, Eastern and Northern Cape Provinces.

We look forward to the next phase of the project.

Bringing together the brightest minds and leading organisations in the sector, serves as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and future-focused solutions.

Some acts of kindness are measured not by their size, but by the dignity they restore!

In the spirit of , the team had the privilege of visiting Ikhaya Loxolo Old Age Home in Gugulethu, where we handed over food and other essential items generously donated through the collective support of our colleagues and PASA to help meet the needs of the elderly residents.

While the donations were meaningful, it was the conversations and genuine human connection that made the day truly memorable. It was a reminder that showing up for one another is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to honour Madiba’s legacy.

Together, we demonstrated that compassion, when shared, has the power to uplift lives and strengthen our communities.
