Tembisa Hospital to host National Back Awareness Day campaign

The Tembisa Hospital Physiotherapy unit will be hosting a National Back Awareness Day Campaign on 11 September 2026. The campaign will include a 5 km Fun Walk aimed at promoting awareness about back health and encouraging an active and healthy lifestyle.

The aim of the National Back Awareness campaign is to educate patients, staff and the community about the importance of maintaining a healthy back, preventing back pain and reducing the risk of back-related injuries. The campaign will provide information on good posture, safe lifting techniques, regular physical activity, healthy lifestyle habits and appropriate management of back pain.

The 5 km Fun Walk will encourage participants to stay physically active while promoting the importance of exercise in maintaining a healthy spine and overall well-being.

Staff, patients and members of the community encouraged to join in supporting this important initiative and making back health a priority.

[WATCH] Tembisa Hospital observes Breastfeeding Week 2026

Tembisa Hospital celebrated the power of breastfeeding on Friday, 7 August 206.
Staff members from Ward 4 led a joyful march around the hospital premises in an effort to support new mothers as they celebrate .

The march around the hospital was the wrapping up of a week-long activities to mark .

The recognition of Breastfeeding Week is a testament to the commitment to empowering new mothers and promoting a healthy start for their babies through breastfeeding.

World Breastfeeding Week is observed from 1 - 7 August every year.
