⚡ MAYOR CHECKS IN ON CAREL GARDEN ELECTRIFICATION PROJECT ⚡

Greater Letaba Municipality Mayor Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha today visited Carel Garden in Mamaila Kolobetona Village to assess progress on the ongoing electrification project.

🏠 112 households are being electrified, with the project now at an impressive 97% completion.

The joy was evident at Maite Daycare Centre, where electricity was connected just two days ago. The Principal welcomed the connection, saying it will allow children to enjoy quicker meal preparation, educational television programmes and other learning activities. 📺💡

The Carel Garden Electrification Project is one of three electricity projects currently being implemented by Greater Letaba Municipality, reflecting the municipality’s commitment to expanding access to reliable electricity.

The Mayor commended the Electrical Department for its dedication, hard work and commitment to delivering the project.

🏛️ SPECIAL COUNCIL SITTING HELD AT GLM COUNCIL CHAMBERS

The Greater Letaba Municipality (GLM) Special Council Sitting was held today at the Council Chambers in Modjadjiskloof, led by the Speaker, Cllr Maria Mokgwathi.

Before deliberations commenced, the Mayor, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha, welcomed the newly appointed members of Council and wished them well in their responsibilities.

Council deliberated on a number of key matters for adoption, including:

1. 2025/26 Financial Year Pre-Audited Annual Financial Statements.
2. 2025/26 Debt Impairment Methodology – GRAP 104.
3. Rates Impairment Methodology – GRAP 108.
4. Upper Limits of Remuneration for the Accounting Officer and Senior Managers.
5. Extension of the Acting Senior Manager position.
6. GLM Performance Management System Policy.
7. GLM Leave Management Policy.
8. Application to lease Mokwakwaila Municipal Buildings opposite the Sub-Office/Hall.
9. 2025/26 Audit Committee Performance Evaluation.
10. Allocation of budget for the Burkina Faso and Maupa Street paving projects.
11. MPAC Report.

MATTERS FOR NOTING

Council also considered the following matters for noting:

• UIFWE Report as at 30 June 2026.
• 2025/26 Unclaimed Retention Write-Off.
• 2025/26 Draft Annual Performance Report.

The sitting reflects Council’s continued commitment to sound governance, financial oversight, accountability and effective service delivery to the communities of Greater Letaba Municipality.
