We wish a very happy black woman's day to all our female students

However, we must note it with grate concern that since the biggining of this month, we have see even those whom we know them of their manipulative and patriarchal practices against our female student parading as the super conscious ones when it comes to the call for . Those who were with us on the pads program, will remember what we discussed regarding woman abuse. We again, without any fear of self confusion and unapologetically so, reiterate that UNISA is amongst the universities where woman students are demanded *love* and s*x to access services.

Dr Ndlonzi on his address balanced us very well when he articulated the point on r**e and what is expected from us as young people in the education sector.

We very much aware of the fact that at unisa we are not familiar with this thing of having lectures addressed by professionals, but when you speak of EFF/EFFSC always expect the impossible to be made possible. We just wish remind and invite all unisa student to the very 1st students lecture to be addressed by comrade under the following details. Again after this lecture we are going to announce our approach on how are we going to engage issues of result and other corrupt and fraudulent conduct commuted by the university against student. Revolutionary greetings fellow students particularly woman on their month

It is fact unfair and serve lesser purpose to only expose the ills committed by our counter part in this institutions, we must indeed, also deliberate on our view or points in our manifesto with which, we expect students to vote EFFSC.

This morning let us unpack the point in which we call for scraping off of the registration minimum fees. We are the organization which faught for free education with no compromise, this was motivated by the fact that we do not have money to pay education. We have ssen majority of our students taking gap semester and taking long to finish their qualification, some are even dropping off due to study fees encounters, at the most frustrating one, is that of not having the minimum registration fee. As EFFSC we say the university and the SRC must seat and come up with the machenism which will enable students to pay while they are in progress with their studies. This will ensure that no one is left out mainly dues to funds. Money must never determine our access to education, let it be our willingness and dedication that will determine our access to higher learning.

Greetings guerrillas

Tonight I just wish to us to look at which posture we must take which will guarantee us a device win on the up coming UNISA SRC elections. It is a given fact that even all of us were to indeed vote for EFFSC, we would still be far from winning even a single seat.

We first understand and appreciate the dynamics within our membership. We have fighter whom we refer to as activist, activist are those comrades whom after signing membership of the EFFSC in accordance to the EFFSC constitution, them become actively involved in activities ran or organized by the branch, those are activist.
There are those members or fighters whom after signing membership of the EFFSC, they never become active. However , they unactivism , though is likely perceived by others as untiorganization, but it never make them lesser members compered to the other. Their membership is based on love and staying knowing I'm the member of the EFFSC in black and white. There are also those who signed the form but they forgot a minutes later after signing that they are EFFSC members.

All these members , in moments like this, become very much important, they all have a role they to play in ensuring that this baby called EFFSC does kill SASCO. Each and every member of this branch particularly those who are this group and obviously those who are not here, must pledge to have minimum of 10 students whom he/she is going to winningly convince to vote EFFSC. One might come and raise the concern that he/she is not always on campus, the good thing about unisa elections is that they are done through cellphone or online, and there we necessarily do not have to be on campus to win vote, at work , library,mall, township, rural area Avery where you can vote and vote EFFSC.

If indeed we are win +10 students that can earn EFFSC total of +-1000 , this again is nothing if we speak of taking over.

We must also speak about how can we get those 10 minimum people to vote EFFSC...........

As you have just fallen, may you wake up tomorrow and be with our woman who are left behind, make them to realize their role in the struggle, give them strength to wage the struggle under all circumstances

Greeting students
Fellow students I extend my warm yet revolutionary greetings. Having been part of the students-SRC trip to the hub n which students frustrating mechanisms are developed, UNISA main campus in pretoria, we bear the duty upon my conscious to report back to you all with an aim to bring all of you into picture of what unfolded there.

I m convinced from space that non of us in his/her sober senses in in favour of all these frustrations we are being undully subjected to, we can differ in approaches we employ to respond to issues but, the common and unambiguous view each an every holds is that they are not good for us and we do not deserve them.
Lot of issues we in our agenda, but there are those that required immediate solution
*finalisation of registration for those students whose reg is still not finalised
*the reinstatement of those registrations which were ill-cancelled
*the issue of students registered with licences
*the issue of appeal form and other busury forms which were not processed since their date of submission by students

I will base my update on these above mentioned points. The management was defeated and agreed to register the students whom were with unfnalised registrations and that was done in frunt of the delegation with the provision that it will continue even after we have left, hence some student have been receiving SMSs.

On the matter of licences, it was agreed that before the end of this week, the challenges brought by this licences status of registrations will be resolved, meaning students will access their academic records and many more, I have seen others accessing such.
The NSFAS appeal form will be processed as well.
Students whose registrations were cancelled, will be re-registered and many have seen that happening also. Issue of the management said that is for second semester, we are pertiantly waiting the actual realization of that.

Attention fellow students

From both positions that of EFFSC and SRC membership I wish to reaffirm it to you all that there is no strike at unisa Durban, university is fully operational. All you need to do is to make your way to campus and demand full service there. That nonsense of saying EFFSC blocked registration ,I believe t does not come from mentally OK someone.

Dear Unisa Student

In December 2017, President Zuma announced increased funding through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) for first-time entering TVET college or university students from South African households with a combined annual income of up to R350 000.

What does this mean?

If you are a first-time entering student, and your application for the 2018 NSFAS funding is approved, NSFAS will pay your 2018 student fees to Unisa.
If you are an existing NSFAS grantee, your NSFAS loan will be converted to a grant (bursary) that does not need to be re-paid to NSFAS.
If you are an existing student but are not a NSFAS grantee, you will need to pay your own student fees.
Although the threshold to qualify for NSFAS assistance has been increased from R122 000 to R350 000, this only applies to new students (not returning students) in 2018. The extended funding (for a returning student with a combined annual household income of less than R350 000) will be phased in over the next five years.

What is a combined annual household income?

This is the total income earned by the student and his or her direct family (spouse, mother, father or legal guardian) in the form of wages, salaries, grants, pensions or other sources of income, including rental or business income.
The gross combined annual household income (income before deductions) may not exceed R350 000 per annum.

Who should apply?

You may apply for the extended 2018 NSFAS grant if
you are registering at Unisa for the first time for an undergraduate qualification.
you have never before registered for any formal qualification at any other higher education institution.
you are a South African citizen (with a South African ID).
your combined annual household income does not exceed R350 000 per annum.
Who should not apply?

Students with a combined annual household income of more than R350 000 per annum.
Students who have already applied for and qualify for NSFAS funding for the 2018 academic year.
