By creating an online platform, we serve to act as a Durban Guide, providing not only ‘Durbanites’ but also other visitors all the information they need to know about the city. The name ‘Durbanite’ is derived from a slang word used by people living

in Durban who refer to themselves as ‘Durbanites.’ We chose this name specifically to target the Durban region, and especially since South Africans are already associating people from Durban as ‘Durbanites.’

We discovered that there was a niche in the market for people who could look at reviews and gather insight as to what is happening in Durban itself, thus Durbanite.co.za was born. We aim to feature as many Durban businesses as possible, at the same time increasing their online presence. Durban is the largest city in Kwa-Zulu Natal, and also the third largest city in South Africa after Johannesburg and Cape Town. It is famous for being the busiest port in South Africa and is also seen as a major tourist spot because of its warm subtropical climate and extensive beaches. We went out for a family lunch expecting the usual chaos… and somehow it just wasn’t 😅🍕

At Col'Cacchio Salt Rock there’s no play area, but you honestly don’t even notice because the staff are incredible. They had the kids busy with dough-making, colouring in, and even jumped in to play with them when they had a moment… which meant we actually got to sit and eat while the food was still hot (a minor miracle) 🙌

The menu has so many options, everyone found something they loved, and the portions are generous. Plus… free beer with every main? Say less 🍺 (and there were a few other specials running as well…think reduced lunch options and guest chef 2 or 3 course dinner)

We left with full bellies, happy kids, and zero stress. I’ll take that kind of “family outing” any day ✨
