We are excited to announce the upcoming Flea Market Day that will be held on the 30th of April 2024, an event dedicated to supporting and showcasing the products of small-scale farmers in the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.
Recognizing the challenges faced by emerging farmers, including inconsistent supply, and declining food quantities, the Fresh Produce Market initiated the Flea Market Day as a quarterly gathering. This event not only provides a space for farmers to exhibit their agricultural products but also introduces them to the Food Hub's environment, encouraging consistent production and supply. This event serves as an opportunity for the Food Hub to connect with local farmers and establish partnerships for supplying fresh produce to the facility.
- All small-scale farmers are invited to sell their produce at the Market.
- Only agricultural-related products are to be sold on the day.
- No tariffs will be charged (farmers get to pocket 100% of their profits)
-Each farmer will be given enough space to display and sell their produce.
- High level of security until the end of business.
It is within our best interests to see local small-scale farmers growing further and see their businesses thriving and profitable.
The event will be held at 1 Mercator place, Wilsonia, East London from 06:00 am to 11:00 am.
