We are honoured to have Onalo Tonisi from Ebenezer High School presenting the 1st Prize for Imbongi Yomthonyama at this year’s Ziveze Mbongi High Schools Competition.

We appreciate his contribution towards celebrating and promoting isiXhosa poetry, indigenous language, culture and young talent. 🌿🎤🏆

🎤 Meet Our Adjudicator: Asiphesona Hewu
Asiphesona Hewu is a passionate isiXhosa poet from Mdantsane, East London, with over five years of experience in poetry and creative expression.
Through his poetry, Asiphesona explores powerful themes of traditional Xhosa culture, social issues, and historical events, creating a rich mosaic of words that speaks deeply to audiences.
His passion for preserving indigenous languages and using poetry as a tool for expression, reflection, and social awareness makes him a valuable addition to our judging panel.
We are proud to welcome Asiphesona Hewu as one of the adjudicators for the Ziveze Mbongi High Schools Competition.
