As South Africa commemorates Youth Day 2026, the legacy of the 1976 generation continues to inspire a new era of empowerment through education, skills development and economic opportunity.

In the Eastern Cape, the Department of Human Settlements is investing in the future by equipping young people with practical skills, training and opportunities that prepare them to lead and contribute to the province's growth and development.

Today, we honour the youth of 1976 by empowering the youth of 2026.
