The establishment of a new town is vital as it addresses the shortage of residential purposes.

The formalisation process is advancing steadily, the project started 2024 April.In our public participation were our communities were in discussion with BVI Engeneering they assured the community by end of March 2026 they would completed but due to various technicalities they experienced delays.
We are pleased to share updates on the ongoing progress in establishing a new town development and formalisation of informal settlements within our community.

We are happy to witness such magnificent progress in Edenhoogte.The project is progressing well and remains on track.The completion of wall plates and roofing represent a major step forward towards the finish up of this housing units.

This service delivery meeting which was held with the community was a resounding success,marked by active participation,constructive discussions and a shared commitment to progress.

Oversight site visit.

Following the demolition of the previous structures "two rooms" in Edenhoogte, construction has progressed steadily. Foundation have been completed and wall plates have now been installed,marking the transition to the roofing phase.

There is still 14 outstanding 2room houses which will be demolished in Edenhoogte.

Damage assessment of a roofing disaster.

Department of human settlement,Kopanong Local municipality housing department accompanied by the ward councilor attended the property located at 17 Hertford street in Edenburg to asses the reported roof damage due to strong wind.

Assessment was conducted and it was evident that certain sections of the roof covering had been blown off.
A report will be submitted to relevant stakeholders to humbly request immediate interventions.

We would like to inform the community that the old two room houses are being officially demolished in Edenhoogte as part of our ongoing development and housing improvement.We can proudly say this step marks an important milestone in our commitment in providing safer,more modernized houses, and dignified living conditions.

We have provided temporary shelter for beneficiaries while awaiting the second phase which is construction of new houses.

Edenhoogte will never be the same again.
