Our waste management teams continue to work across Ekurhuleni to keep communities clean and ensure waste services are delivered where they are needed most.

📍 : Teams are collecting bags along main streets, litter picking, servicing bulk containers, and clearing illegal dumping sites.

📍 : Waste collection, as well as operations and maintenance of mini-sites, are underway.

📍 :Teams are carrying out litter picking and cleaning operations at the Nigel Transfer Station and across the .

📍 :Litter picking and waste collection are being carried out to keep public spaces clean.

💚 From street cleaning to illegal dumping removal, our teams are on the ground—keeping Ekurhuleni clean, one community at a time.

CITY INTERVENES TO ADDRESS ETWATWA CROSSING MALL TAXI OPERATION CONCERNS 🚐

📌Today, MMC for Roads and Transport, Cllr Lindiwe Mnguni, accompanied by MMC for Infrastructure and Economic Development Agency, Ald. Dora Mlambo, met with the members of the Benoni Taxi Association (BTA), together with the management of the Etwatwa Crossing Mall, to discuss concerns raised about taxi operations at the facility. Issues such as the structure of the taxi rank, ablution facilities and management offices where part of the discussion.

Following a site inspection conducted at the facility, all stakeholders agreed to reconvene the meeting with city's officials from the City Planning Department 🏬 to assist with the assessment and planning.

MMC Mnguni committed to work with all the stakeholders to bring a lasting solution to this challenge for the benefit of commuters who rely on public transport to access these amenities.

The Meyersdal area in Alberton remains without electricity due to faulty electricity cables.

🔧Current Status: A team of test technicians is currently on-site working to locate the faulty cable. Repair work will commence once the fault has been identified.

⏳ ERT: No estimated time of restoration is available at this stage. Residents will be kept updated through the City’s official communication platforms.

As a qualifying indent your social package will consist of the following:

1. 100% rebate on assessment rates.
2. 10kl of water and sewer per month.
3. Free indigent burial for registered and deemed indigent.
4. Free refuse removal.
5. 50kwh of electricity per month.
6. Special rates.
