STAFF WELLNESS DAY: A MOMENT TO PAUSE, REFLECT AND RECONNECT

Our Staff Wellness Day was a meaningful and impactful programme that brought together our teaching, non-teaching and general staff members with a shared purpose: to prioritise our mental health, physical wellbeing and overall wellness.

The programme created a valuable space for us to pause from our demanding responsibilities, reflect on our personal wellbeing, and remind ourselves that taking care of ourselves is just as important as taking care of those we serve. The presentations and engagements challenged us to take a serious relook at our mental health and general wellness, encouraging us to become more intentional about recognising stress, supporting one another, seeking help when necessary, and creating a healthier working environment.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to our presenters for the insightful and thought-provoking sessions. You did not merely share information; you challenged us to reflect, reassess and take greater responsibility for our wellbeing.

A special word of appreciation goes to our generous sponsors:

* Lancet Laboratories
* Ampath Laboratories
* Star for Life

Your contribution made this important initiative possible and demonstrated your commitment to the wellbeing of our staff and the broader school community. We sincerely thank you for your invaluable support.

We also extend our gratitude to the School Governing Body (SGB) for ensuring that refreshments were available for our staff. Your support and partnership contributed significantly to the success of the day.

A special appreciation goes to the School Management Team (SMT), led by our Principal, Mrs Mchunu, for conceptualising, organising and staging such an important programme. Your leadership demonstrates an understanding that a healthy and supported staff is fundamental to a healthy and successful school.

As we return to our respective responsibilities, may we carry with us the lessons from this day. Let us continue to look out for one another, speak openly about wellness, prioritise our mental health, and build a workplace where every staff member feels valued, supported and appreciated.

Wellness is not a once-off event—it is a continuous commitment to ourselves and to one another.

Thank you to everyone who contributed to making our Staff Wellness Day a success. Let us continue to care, support and grow together.
