DR AB XUMA LOCAL MUNICIPALITY MAYOR CONDEMNS SHOOTING OF KHANYOLWETHU SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL
Dr AB Xuma Local Municipality Hon Mayor, Cllr Siyabulela Zangqa, has strongly condemned the tragic shooting of the principal of Khanyolwethu Senior Secondary School.
The Mayor together with Members of the Executive Committee, joined the MEC for Education, Hon. Fundile Gade, and his delegation today in visiting the school to offer support and solidarity to learners, educators and staff members.
"The loss of a school principal through such a senseless act of violence is deeply disturbing and unacceptable. This incident is not only a challenge for the education sector, but reflects broader social challenges facing our communities. We must work together to address the culture of violence that continues to rob families and communities of their loved ones," said Mayor Zangqa.
He further urged the school community to remain strong and continue striving for excellence despite the painful loss, while assuring them that the Municipality, together with government and other stakeholders, would provide all possible support during this difficult period.
Dr AB Xuma Local Municipality extends its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of the late principal and calls on all members of society to work together in building safer communities.
