🌏 Taiwan’s Zhongyuan Festival brings friends from around the world together!🌏 臺灣中元文化，串起跨越國界的友誼！

Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung hosted a traditional Zhongyuan Festival prayer ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, joined for the first time by representatives from Taiwan’s 12 diplomatic allies and 12 other friendly countries.

Alongside traditional Taiwanese offerings, guests contributed specialties from their own countries—including snacks, beer and maple syrup—creating a truly international offering table. Minister Lin also presented participants with Taiwan’s popular green “Kuai Kuai” corn snacks, symbolizing good fortune, peace and everything running smoothly. 💚

Through this meaningful celebration, Taiwan shared its rich folk traditions while strengthening friendships with diplomatic allies and like-minded partners. 🤝✨

外交部長林佳龍主持中元普渡祈福儀式，首度邀請我國12個邦交國及另外12個友好國家代表共同參與。

除了臺灣傳統的鮮花、水果及牲禮外，各國代表也帶來家鄉特色供品，包括零食、啤酒及楓糖漿等，讓供桌充滿濃濃的國際風情。林部長更致贈臺灣人氣零食「綠色乖乖」，祝福大家闔家平安、事事順利！💚

🏆 Team Taiwan Wins the Official Team Title at the 2026 Namib Race! 台灣隊勇奪2026納米比亞🇳🇦沙漠賽官方團體組冠軍！

Congratulations to Taiwanese ultramarathon runners Yi Chieh (Kevin) Lin and Min Feng Lee, who represented Team Taiwan A and won the Official Team category at the 2026 Namib Race in Namibia! 🇳🇦
The seven-day, 250-kilometre self-supported race challenged competitors to cross the demanding terrain of the Namib Desert while carrying their own equipment and supplies. This year’s event brought together 132 competitors from 37 countries.

Their remarkable achievement is a powerful demonstration of endurance, teamwork and determination. Congratulations to Team Taiwan A for reaching the top of the podium in Southern Africa! 👏

恭喜台灣超馬好手林義傑與李銘峰組成的「Team Taiwan A」，在2026年納米比亞沙漠賽（Namib Race）勇奪官方團體組冠軍！

這場為期7天、全程250公里的自給自足極地超級馬拉松，選手必須攜帶自己的裝備與補給，穿越艱困的納米布沙漠。今年共有來自37個國家的132名選手參賽。

台灣與烏克蘭利沃夫啟動智慧醫療合作　升級兩家醫院、預計嘉惠72萬人 Taiwan and Lviv Launch Smart-Healthcare Project for Two Hospitals Serving 720,000 Residents 🇺🇦

TaiwanICDF and partners in the Ukrainian city of Lviv have launched a smart-healthcare project to strengthen the emergency departments and intensive care units at St. Panteleimon Hospital and St. Nicholas Children’s Hospital.

The project will integrate medical equipment, software and AI-supported information systems while providing professional training for healthcare and IT personnel. It is expected to improve hospital services supporting Lviv’s population of approximately 720,000.

This is TaiwanICDF’s first medical cooperation project in Europe. By combining technology, clinical experience and professional training, the partnership focuses on building stronger and more resilient public-health capacity.

外交部政務次長吳志中今（2026）年8月25日線上見證我國政府委託財團法人國際合作發展基金會（TaiwanICDF）推動的「烏克蘭利沃夫（Lviv）市立醫院智慧醫療強化計畫」簽約儀式。計畫簽約方包括國合會、利沃夫市政府、利沃夫第一醫療聯盟及UNBROKEN基金會，並由駐波蘭大使劉永健共同見證。

國合會與烏克蘭利沃夫市政府、利沃夫第一醫療聯盟及UNBROKEN基金會完成合作簽約，將協助升級St. Panteleimon醫院及St. Nicholas兒童醫院的急診部門與加護病房。

計畫將整合醫療設備、軟體及AI資訊系統，並為醫療與資訊人員提供專業訓練，預計強化服務利沃夫約72萬居民的公共醫療量能。

國合會受外交部委託，首度在歐洲執行醫療合作計畫。從設備、資訊系統到人才培育，台灣正以智慧醫療經驗協助夥伴建立更具韌性的照護體系。

立法院吳沛憶委員藉訪問南非開普敦之機會，在駐開普敦辦事處陳瑩莉處長、非洲台灣商會總會陳智敏輔導總會長及林錦華僑務諮詢委員陪同下，於8月24日上午特地偕外籍友人前往開普敦朝天宮上香致意。由朝天宮蘇昱翔董事長等人親切接待，並向吳委員介紹開普敦朝天宮的設立緣起及發展現況，感謝吳委員對海外僑社及民俗信仰的關懷！

Taiwan Legislator Wu Pei-yi visited Mar Tzu Temple Cape Town on the morning of 24 August during her visit to Cape Town, South Africa. Chairman Alan Su and members of the temple warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the history and development of Mar Tzu Temple Cape Town. They also expressed their appreciation to Legislator Wu for her care and support for the Taiwanese community and the preservation of MarTzu culture overseas.

開普敦朝天宮慶讚中元普渡 Chungyuan Pudu Ceremony at MarTzu Temple Cape Town

開普敦朝天宮於8月23日舉行慶讚中元普渡祭典，由董事長蘇昱翔擔任主祭，駐開普敦辦事處處長陳瑩莉、僑務委員王國揚，以及近300名僑胞應邀共襄盛舉，場面隆重盛大。

祭典依循傳統普渡儀式，向眾神明及冥界「好兄弟」上香祈福，並由主祭官恭讀祭文，依序進行牲禮、鮮花素果及祭酒等獻祭儀式，過程莊嚴虔誠。主辦單位另準備油飯、滷味、鹹粿及炒米粉等豐盛台灣家鄉料理供來賓享用；駐處亦贊助普渡供品，支持僑社傳統民俗文化活動。

On 23 August, Mar Tzu Temple Cape Town held its annual Chungyuan Pudu ceremony for the Ghost(Chungyuan) Festival.

Following Taiwanese tradition, participants offered incense and prayers to the deities and spirits, respectfully known as “Good Brothers” in Taiwan. The ceremony included the reading of a traditional prayer and the presentation of food offerings, flowers, fruit and ceremonial wine.

Guests also enjoyed Taiwanese dishes, including sticky rice, assorted braised dishes, savoury rice cakes and stir-fried rice noodles. The Taipei Liaison Office in Cape Town sponsored some of the offerings in support of this important community tradition.

從青年大使出發，讓外交持續接力！🌏Passing on the baton to the next generation through the Taiwan International Youth Ambassador & Campus Ambassador Programs

上週外交部熱鬧舉辦「國際青年大使暨校園大使授旗典禮」，用國家級的祝福為青年夥伴加油打氣 🙌

外交部多年來推動「國際青年大使交流計畫」，至今已累積超過千名青年大使走向世界。如今，這股青年外交的力量又往前走了一步！

在外交部輔導下成立的「台灣國際青年大使協會」（TIYAA），正式啟動運作，並迎來成立後首次出團。協會串聯歷屆國際青年大使，並結合農業青年大使、國合會及NGO等不同領域的青年夥伴，他們豐富的出訪經驗、人脈與熱情不僅是該協會的重要基石，也是凝聚 的重要力量！

這也是「總合外交」的具體實踐。當政府與民間、專業與青年力量彼此串聯，每一個人都可以在自己的位置上，發揮外交能量，為台灣連結世界。

「 #人人都是外交官」不只是一句口號，而是可以持續參與的行動。外交部也期待今年出團的青年大使，之後可以加入協會的行列，更歡迎更多年輕朋友報考 #外交特考，投入國際事務，讓台灣青年一棒接一棒，把台灣的故事帶向世界！💪

Last week MOFA Minister Lin Chia-lung presided over a flag handover ceremony for the International Youth Ambassadors and TaiwanICDF Campus Ambassadors, giving them a proper send-off ahead of their upcoming travels🙌

MOFA's International Youth Ambassador scheme has been running for several years now, facilitating more than 1,000 young people in undertaking overseas exchange missions. And we're happy to announce a further development for the program!
The Taiwan International Youth Ambassador Association has been created under MOFA's guidance and will embark on its first trip, accompanying the young ambassadors. The association brings together all previous youth ambassadors along with the young agricultural ambassadors and young volunteers from TaiwanICDF and NGOs, harnessing their experience, contacts, and enthusiasm for the next gen of !

The association's establishment aligns with Minister Lin's integrated diplomatic approach, in that everyone can play a role in diplomacy through public-private collaboration, connecting Taiwan with the world by combining professionalism with youthful energy.
"Everyone can be a diplomat" is not just a slogan; we've put it into action! MOFA wishes the young ambassadors well on their trips and hopes they'll join the association upon their return. We also welcome them to take the test for diplomatic and consular personnel, to take the baton and join MOFA's ranks💪

Taiwan has been named Best Exhibitions Destination in Asia at the 2026 M&C Asia Stella Awards—marking its third consecutive win. Taipei International Convention Center also received its first award for Best Sustainability Initiative among convention centres.

Chosen through nominations from business-events professionals across Asia, the recognition reflects more than the scale of Taiwan’s venues. Behind every successful gathering are connected cities, professional teams and a growing effort to make international events more sustainable.

An exhibition may last only a few days, but the partnerships and ideas it creates can travel much farther. That is the kind of meeting place Taiwan continues to build.

16項智慧機器人技術台北亮相～Taiwan’s Robots Learn to Lend a Hand

A five-finger robotic hand flexes through 20 degrees of freedom.
Beside it, a four-legged machine prepares for places too risky for people.

Sixteen smart-robot technologies have just been unveiled at the 2026 Taiwan Automation Intelligence and Robot Show in Taipei. Among them are a modular AI-powered hand designed for precision tasks such as electronics assembly and medical-device handling, and a quadruped platform being developed for rescue work, underground inspection and public safety.

The showcase brings together Taiwan’s strengths in semiconductors, precision machinery, ICT and AI software—not simply to build robots, but to help technology work more safely and usefully alongside people. 🤖

一旁的四足機器人，準備走進人類不宜久留的危險現場。

經濟部產業技術司8月19日於2026台灣智慧自動化與機器人展（TAIROS）揭幕「機器人科技研發主題館」，展示16項智慧機器人創新技術。當中包括可因應電子組裝與醫療器械整理等精密作業的AI仿生靈巧手，以及朝消防救災、地下管線巡檢與公共安全應用發展的四足機器人平台。

從半導體、資通訊到精密機械與AI軟體，台灣正在把熟悉的產業實力組合起來，讓機器人不只「會動」，更能在真實世界裡安全地幫上忙。🤖

台灣超馬選手跑進納米比亞沙漠，暫居第一！

由極限運動家林義傑與李銘峰組成的「Team Taiwan A」，正在挑戰全程250公里、為期7天的納米比亞極限馬拉松。完成前兩站、累積約83公里後，台灣隊目前暫居官方團體組第一！🥇

台灣本次共計15人參賽，林義傑及王仁甫、郭彥均領軍出征，沙漠征途仍在繼續，為台灣選手加油，期待他們平安完成接下來的每一步！💪🏜️
