We had a three-day Behaviour Modification Programme from 30 March to 1 April with a group of 13 children and their parents at the Lawaaikamp Community Hall.

The programme is designed to better understand and address behavioural challenges. In the first session, we engage directly with the children to explore any behavioural issues they may be experiencing and identify possible underlying causes. The second session invites the parents, providing a space to discuss how they currently manage behavioural challenges at home.

In the final session, both children and parents come together to share insights and collaboratively plan a positive way forward.

The programme also helps children understand the consequences of misbehaviour and encourages the development of healthier, more positive behaviours.

Forty-three (43) Grade 8โ€“10 Foundation Phase students attended the second Independent Living Programme session at Makarios Assemblies Church of God in Rosemoor.

This session focused on a needs analysis, supporting the programmeโ€™s goal of preparing foster care students from Grades 8 to 12 for life beyond school.

Our Foster Care team hosted their first ๐‘ช๐’‰๐’‚๐’‘๐’•๐’†๐’“ ๐’•๐’ ๐‘จ๐’…๐’–๐’๐’•๐’‰๐’๐’๐’… ๐‘ท๐’“๐’๐’ˆ๐’“๐’‚๐’Ž๐’Ž๐’† at Makarios Assemblies Church of God in Rosemoor. Twenty (20) students attended and actively participated in a discussion on maintaining a positive mindset and attitude in life.

The aim of the programme was to conduct a needs analysis that will guide future initiatives, helping us better prepare our students for life after school.

Our Social Auxiliary team had a successful Human Rights Programme at Thembalethu Zone 9 Community Hall.

Twenty-eight (28) participants came to spend the day with us learning more about human rights, with a specific focus on respect, equality, the rights of children, the importance of reporting abuse, and how to access support services within the community.

Safety Parent Workshop

In moments of crisis, it is our safety/foster parents who step in with open hearts and open homes - offering children not just a place of safety, but a sense of belonging.

We had the privilege of hosting a small group of individuals who completed our two-day Safety Parent Workshop on 18 and 19 March. Participants gained insight into the role, responsibilities, and impact of safety parenting.

Moments like these remind us that there is still so much compassion in our communities - people willing to show up when it matters most.

In celebration of , we had the privilege of accompanying Maydine, Social Worker, and Nandi, Social Auxiliary Worker, on a home visit day.

From delivering soya food packs to local clinics, to checking in on foster placements and sharing invitations to upcoming programmes, we witnessed firsthand the heart and dedication behind their work. It gave us a glimpse into the everyday work of social servants - the compassion, commitment, and care they carry into every space they enter.
