The ANCYL Regional Picket against the corruption enabled by the DA within the city of Ekurhuleni, a memorandum of demands was read and submited to the Speaker of Council Mr John Senona received the memorandum on behalf of the city of ekurheleni. Our demands are as follows:

OUR DEMANDS
1. Immediately initiate the appropriate Ethics Committee processes in respect of serving councillors where the allegations or conduct lawfully
fall within the Committee's jurisdiction.
2. Appropriately refer and investigate the circumstances surrounding the private security allegedly provided by CAT VIP Protection to former
Executive Mayor Tania Campbell.
3. Determine whether all required declarations, security protocols, authorisations and municipal governance processes were followed.
4. Ensure appropriate scrutiny of the political oversight exercised over the EMPD during Khathutshelo Rasilingwane's tenure as MMC
responsible for Community Safety.
5. Ensure appropriate Council ethics processes concerning Councillor Kabelo Mahonko, without interfering with or prejudging the criminal case
before the courts.
6. Refer any credible additional criminal allegations to the appropriate law-enforcement authorities for investigation rather than allowing
rumours to substitute for facts.
7. Refer matters concerning former councillors or office-bearers outside the jurisdiction of Council's Ethics Committee to competent
investigative or accountability structures where appropriate.
8. Provide Council with a report explaining the action taken by the Speaker in response to these matters.
9. Ensure that should Khathutshelo Rasilingwane return to Council after the 2026 Local Government Elections, outstanding matters lawfully
falling within Council's jurisdiction do not disappear because an election has taken place.
10. We demand Justice for Mzwakhe Khananda a 23 years old who was brutally tourched to death.
