Today, we joined the President of the AN. and the Premier of Gauteng for a thought-provoking engagement with the middle strata of our society.

The ANC remains a school of political thought, where diverse ideas converge, perspectives are contested and collective wisdom shapes the pursuit of social and economic transformation.

We also shared a light-hearted moment with the President, reminding us of the human dimension of leadership.

A liberation movement must not only lead society but continuously learn from it. Its relevance lies in its capacity for intellectual renewal, political responsiveness and an enduring connection with the people.

This morning, together with fellow ANC Regional Executive Committee (REC) members in Ekurhuleni, we joined the Anglican Church of the Resurrection in prayer and reflection as part of the OR Tambo commemoration.

As we honour this giant of our liberation struggle, we are reminded that true leadership is rooted in humility, integrity, sacrifice and selfless service to the people.

OR Tambo’s legacy challenges us to reflect: Are we still living the values and principles for which he sacrificed so much?

The greatest tribute we can pay to his memory is not through words, but through our actions and unwavering commitment to serving our people.

His legacy is our responsibility. His values must remain our compass.
