Oatlands Preparatory School invites applications from an enthusiastic, nurturing and dedicated educator to join our team as a Grade 00 Teacher

This is an exciting opportunity for an educator who is passionate about Early Childhood Development and committed to creating a stimulating, caring and supportive environment in which young children can learn, grow and thrive.

Minimum requirements:
* An appropriate ECD or Foundation Phase teaching qualification
* SACE registration certificate
* Be willing to obtain a police clearance certificate and sexual offences register clearance.
* A genuine passion for working with young children
* Sound knowledge of play-based learning and child development
* Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional team

Key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to:
* Plan and implement engaging, age appropriate learning experiences
* Support social, emotional, physical and cognitive development of learners
* Create a safe, welcoming, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment
* Establish positive and professional relationships with learners, parents and colleagues
* Maintain appropriate learner records and classroom documentation
* Participate actively in the academic, cultural and co-curricular life of the school.

We are incredibly proud of our Grade 7 girls, Maliphathwe Motjeane and Limile Njenje, who took part in the South African National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships.

The girls competed in the group event against nine groups from across South Africa, achieving an outstanding 4th-place finish! 🏆 They also showcased their talent in their individual routines, including Ball, Hoop and Free Dance.

Today we celebrated the beauty, diversity and richness of our South African heritage with a special Heritage Day Civvies Day! 🇿🇦❤️

Today, our Foundation Phase learners had the pleasure of visiting Graeme College to watch their annual production in the Templeton Hall.

🎶 INTERHOUSE SINGING COMPETITION | 15 SEPTEMBER 2026 🎶

What a wonderful evening of music, teamwork and school spirit! Our Interhouse Singing Competition took place on 15 September, and all four houses gave an impressive performance. Each house worked hard and brought their own energy, enthusiasm and creativity to the stage.

A special congratulations to Walwyn House, who were crowned the winners once again, following their victory last year! 🏆🎶

A huge thank you to all our teachers who worked tirelessly with the houses and helped prepare our learners for the competition. Your dedication and commitment made such a difference.

We would also like to extend our sincere thanks to Victoria Primary School for generously allowing us to use their hall for the event.

Thank you to our adjudicator, Mr Njeza, for taking the time to adjudicate the competition and for sharing valuable feedback with our learners.

A special thank you to our choirmaster, Mr Cagwe, for his assistance and contribution towards making the afternoon a success.

Most importantly, well done to all our learners! Your confidence, teamwork, enthusiasm and love for music were wonderful to see. We are incredibly proud of every house and the effort that went into each performance.

📚 KOM ONS RYM! – JACO JACOBS 🎤
Today, our Afrikaans Foundation Phase learners had the privilege of attending a wonderful programme where the Intermediate Phase learners performed their Afrikaans poems and rhymes.
A big congratulations to Mrs Bodenstein and her learners for an entertaining and enjoyable programme that had us all laughing! Their performances were fantastic, and it was lovely to see the confidence and enthusiasm with which the learners presented their poems and rhymes.
Mrs Bodenstein ended the programme on a high note with an amazing rhyming story by Jaco Jacobs. What a delightful way to inspire our young learners to appreciate the beauty and fun of language! ❤️
