Get ready for a cracking good time! We are counting down the days until the Pecan Harvest Festival kicks off next weekend, and the line-up is looking absolutely spectacular.

Whether you are here for the harvest, the heritage, or just a great day out in the country, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

🎷 Live Music: Soak up the atmosphere with the soulful sounds of a live saxophone performance by Gerda Stander.

🍕Food & Treats: Feast on a delicious variety of food including pizzas, prego rolls, and more. For those with a sweet tooth, we have mouthwatering pastries and candied nuts.

☕🍷The Drinks Station: From your perfect morning brew to kickstart the day, to local wines with Hazon Vines and premium estates from across the country. Plus, our gin bar and a wide selection of other refreshments will be open all day.

🍂Pecan Picking: Experience the harvest first-hand! Grab an empty 1kg bag at the gate for purchase and head into the orchards to find your own haul.

🌊 HARTIES NEEDS MORE THAN JUST VISITORS — IT NEEDS ACCOUNTABILITY.

Deputy Minister of Water & Sanitation, Sello Seitlholo, has been vocal about the crisis facing Hartbeespoort Dam — and rightly so.

Water hyacinth currently covers nearly 34% of the dam's surface. Government is spending R22 million every year just removing the plant — while the root cause, untreated sewage from failing municipal infrastructure, continues flowing in unchecked.
The Deputy Minister has now proposed that water pollution be declared a national crisis and warned that mayors and municipal managers could face personal liability and even jail time if they fail to act.

Here's what most people don't know:

🔴 Over 30 million litres of raw sewage enter the Jukskei River daily, ending up in our dam
🔴 Fish kills are increasing due to oxygen depletion
🔴 Hartbeespoort Dam attracts 3 million visitors a year and generates R1.4 billion for the province all of it at risk

We at Harties Experience are invested in this destination, not just as a platform, but as people who believe Hartbeespoort deserves better.
Government is engaging. Magalies Water is working. But this fight needs community voices too.
