Women’s Month Spotlight: Meet Kirsty🩷

For Kirsty, being there for people in their most vulnerable moments isn’t just something she does. It’s something she has built her life around.

A Hout Bay local for 40 years, Kirsty completed her ILS medical training in 2008 and went on to volunteer with Hout Bay EMS. She has also been part of CCP’s journey from the very beginning, volunteering her medical skills to help people across our community.

Today, Kirsty is CCP’s only female volunteer medic responder.

With CCP’s support and assistance, she is able to safely reach patients who need urgent help, assess and stabilise them, and provide vital care while emergency medical services are on their way.

Her passion for helping others extends far beyond CCP. Kirsty teaches offshore survival, including Helicopter Underwater Escape Training (HUET), as well as first aid and lifesaving skills. Through this work, she empowers people with the knowledge and confidence to look after themselves and to help others when it matters most.

As she puts it:

“The more people who know CPR, and the more people who know how to save a life, the better.”

And when you ask her what drives her, the answer is beautifully simple:

“I guess my passion is just people, and helping people. Helping my community.”

This Women’s Month, we’re proud to celebrate Kirsty, a woman whose courage, compassion and willingness to step forward continue to make a very real difference in Hout Bay🌸💪

🩷And as Women’s Month comes to a close, we celebrate all women, in every role and every walk of life, and the countless ways they strengthen, support and shape the communities around them🩷

CCP has responded to and assisted with over 16 000 incidents since 2021.

Sixteen thousand‼️

That number represents far more than calls on a system.

It represents crime reports, medical emergencies, fires, accidents, suspicious activity, welfare checks, snake call-outs, storm-related incidents, road hazards, Control Room coordination, responder dispatch, CCTV monitoring, partner communication and follow-up.

It represents thousands of moments where Hout Bay needed someone to answer, assess, coordinate or assist.

đź’ĄBehind that number is a network built over years: CCP, SAPS, Law Enforcement, security partners, ambulance services, Fire and Rescue, volunteer responders, medics, neighbourhood groups, donors and residentsđź’Ą

Over 16 000 incidents.
One community response network.
And years of showing up for Hout Bay

DID YOU KNOW?

CCP has just TWO full-time responders.

ONLY TWO.

Two people helping respond across Hout Bay to crime incidents, medical emergencies, accidents, fires, snake call-outs, welfare checks and so much more.
One minute they may be assisting at a medical emergency. The next, responding to a crime incident, a fire or a snake call-out.

Day and night, these two responders are often among the first to arrive — assessing the situation, assisting where they can, coordinating additional resources and staying until the right help is in place.

And they cannot do it alone.

They are backed by our incredible CCP volunteer responders, who give their time, skills and heart to support our community whenever they can.

To our two full-time responders, every CCP volunteer, and the wider Hout Bay response network that continues to show up:

THANK YOU đź’›

Two full-time responders.
One community.
An extraordinary amount of work. 🚔🚑🚒

CCP is made up of incredible men and women who all play an important role in keeping the organisation moving. This month, we’re taking a moment to recognise the women in our team and the work they do every day.

From the Control Room and crime-related support to admin, communications, fundraising and donor care, the women of CCP contribute across many parts of the organisation. Their work helps keep calls moving, information flowing, residents supported and the many behind-the-scenes details of CCP running smoothly.đź’Şđź’Ą

đź©·To the women of CCP, thank you ladies for the care, commitment and strength you bring to our team and our communityđź©·

As we move through the second half of 2026, CCP continues to track crime incidents across Hout Bay to better understand patterns, support response and guide prevention effortsđź’Ş

July saw strong coordinated response outcomes, with 7 arrests linked to crime response efforts during the month.

These statistics are not just numbers. They represent reports received, cameras monitored, responders dispatched, information shared, suspects followed up and cases supported through the correct channels.

A big thank you to Hout Bay SAPS, Law Enforcement, Deep Blue Security, Fidelity ADT, PPA Security, our CIDs, estates, neighbourhood watches, businesses, volunteers, donors and residents who continue to play a role in Hout Bay’s safety network💥

No single organisation keeps Hout Bay safe. It is the network, and it works because the community keeps showing upđź’›

💛 Let’s Paint Hout Bay Gold! 💛

For the past few weeks, our 'Paint Hout Bay Gold' campaign has been running across WhatsApp neighbourhood groups, encouraging residents to rally together and help strengthen CCP’s support across Hout Bay.

Now we’re bringing the leaderboard to social media.

Each area is ranked according to its current individual household contribution percentage. This includes HOA, CID, body corporate or area-level contributions, and is calculated using R350 as the average monthly household contribution benchmark.

A special congratulations to our current top three areas:

🏆 Bokkemanskloof Estate
🏆 Hanging Meadows
🏆 Stoneybrook estate

Thank you to every household already contributing. Your support helps keep CCP’s crime response, medical response, Control Room, technology and emergency coordination active for Hout Bay.

🚨LPR Network Helps Track Vehicle After Reported Armed Robbery Involving a 14-Year-Old🚨

Two male suspects reportedly fled in a white VW Polo. Despite limited surveillance in the area, which caused a delay in obtaining the necessary information, CCP’s Control Room did excellent work under challenging circumstances, using the available information and safety technology to identify the vehicle and obtain the registration number.

The vehicle information was then shared through the appropriate safety channels, and Hout Bay SAPS was briefed. Following instruction by SAPS, the registration was loaded by CCP’s control room for monitoring.

Last night, the vehicle was detected travelling to Sea Point through the wider LPR safety network. Multiple resources, including SAPS Flying Squad and Law Enforcement, were alerted and assisted in the follow-up.

The vehicle was later intercepted by SAPS Flying Squad in Green Point. Both suspects and the vehicle were transported to Hout Bay SAPS for questioning in connection with the reported robbery.

Excellent work by CCP’s Control Room, LPR user group, Platform 1, Hout Bay SAPS, SAPS Flying Squad, Law Enforcement and the broader crime response network💥
