The ANCYL President, Cde Collen Malatji, will deliver a keynote address at the Youth Demands Rally in Durban on June 15, as part of Youth Month celebrations. As the African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL), we boldly declare a fierce struggle against unemployment, crime, gender-based violence, and drug abuse. The ANCYL demands urgent and transformative economic emancipation as the cornerstone of change, serving as the definitive solution to the challenges confronting South Africa’s youth and the nation at large.

**Media Statement: ANCYL Harry Gwala Regional Executive Committee (REC) Takes Decisive Action to Revitalize Youth Leadership**

The ANCYL Harry Gwala Regional Executive Committee (REC) convened its inaugural meeting attended by the PEC Member Cde Nompilo , marking a significant milestone in the region's youth leadership. During the meeting, the REC appointed the Regional Working Committee (RWC) to spearhead the rejuvenation of the ANCYL in Harry Gwala

The Regional Chairperson emphasized the commitment of the team to foster a new era of energetic and dedicated youth leadership in Harry Gwala Region. The REC looks forward to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to ensure a vibrant and effective ANCYL that represents the aspirations and voices of the youth in the region.

The meeting also appointed the RWC as follows:
1. Cde Njabulo Ngubane
2. Cde Azania Zuma
3. Cde Wandile Mbanjwa
4. Cde Lwazi Nzimande
5. Cde Nomfesane Jili
6. Cde Ncomeka Zondi
7. Cde Phumla Jama
8. Cde Siseko Mdladla

The Meetings also resolved on sub-regional Conveners as follows :

1. Cde Melusi Jili (SJM)
2. Cde Msizi Lugaju (JPP)
3. Cde Zthobile Mncwabe (NDZ)
4. Cde Siseko Mdladla(NCW)

This was followed by the appointment of Solomzi Dubula as the spokesperson of the REC.

The ANCYL in Harry Gwala is deeply saddened by the sexual violation of an 18 year old girl from ward 11

The victim was allegedly r***d by Inkosi yakwa Bhidla in ward 11 Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma Local

We applaud authorities of the law on working tirelessly in making sure that the perpetrator is being arrested, we will monitor the case closely as he will appear at Hlanganani Court on 15 May 2025

We call upon the justice system and law enforcement agencies to ensure that this case is treated with urgency it deserves.

Special congratulations to the following Schools who achieved 100% passes, it is important to note that a majority of the schools that achieved this are from deep rural areas in Harry Gwala, we commend the work done by the department of education in the province of Kwazulu Natal, indeed our backgrounds can never determine our future 🙌🏾
