Netflix, in collaboration with the Gauteng Film Commission and the KZN Tourism & Film - Film in KZN has named 14 young South Africans who will spend the next year working inside the country's most prolific film and television production and post-production companies as part of the ScreenCraft Pathways training programme.

The streaming entertainment service also announced the programme has been renewed for a second cohort who will kick off their training in 2027.

Today, the Gauteng Film Commission, joined by Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile , handed over start-up equipment to 13 beneficiaries from across Gauteng as part of its Enterprise Development Programme. The initiative equips emerging filmmakers and creative entrepreneurs with the tools needed to grow their businesses and contribute to Gauteng’s creative economy. Congratulations to all the recipients.

The future of Gauteng’s screen industry continues to shine brighter. Today, Netflix ScreenCraft, in partnership with the Gauteng Film Commission and KZN Tourism and Film Authority, announced the beneficiaries of the programme aimed at nurturing and empowering the next generation of creative talent.

The event was attended by MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile , who delivered a keynote address highlighting the importance of investing in skills development, innovation, and sustainable growth within the film and television sector.

Congratulations to all the beneficiaries as they embark on this exciting journey to shape the future of storytelling in Gauteng and beyond!
