Yesterday in Tembisa was all about planting the seeds of entrepreneurship. 🌱

We started the day with an induction session led by our team Thembalethu Development in partnership with service providers, WMD Civils, as part of the New Venture Creation NCV Level 2 Incubation funded by The BANKSETA Programme. The energy in the room was electric and today, the learning journey officially begins! 💼✨

In the second session, we were joined by The BANKSETA representatives for the participant verification process, ensuring everything is in place to support these future entrepreneurs.

We’re excited to walk this journey with aspiring business minds who are ready to create, build, and lead.

This Good Friday, we reflect on the power of new beginnings and the strength found in transformation.

Meet Aliyah, founder of Sugardust and Spice. What started as a small home-based baking business has grown into a thriving enterprise—thanks to her talent, resilience, and the support of the (SEF).

With SEF’s help, Aliyah overcame key business hurdles, from navigating tax compliance to strengthening her admin systems. Since joining in July, her monthly turnover has increased by over 300%, allowing her to dream bigger, take on more clients, and plan for long-term growth.

From mentorship to business workshops and a reliable stipend, SEF gave her more than just tools—it gave her confidence.

Aliyah’s journey reminds us that with the right support, transformation is not only possible—it’s powerful.

🌍♻️ Empowering Communities, One Recycled Item at a Time! ♻️🌍

On Friday, March 28th, Thembalethu Development, was part of the waste Buy Back Centre launch by Reyaxuma Recycling Project one of our (SEF) localities in Tembisa in Collaboration with Coca-Cola.! 🎉

With support from SEF programme, Thembalethu Development is proud of the milestone that Reyaxuma Recycling achieved. This provides an opportunity for other waste collectors to sell their recyclable waste locally.
