Tabling of the 2025/26 Annual Report

The Departments interventions remain aligned to the priorities of the Gauteng Provincial Government, with particular emphasis on:

* Strengthening policing and community safety;
* Increasing law enforcement visibility;
* Improving safety in schools;
* Tackling Gender-Based Violence and Femicide;
* Investing in modern crime-fighting technologies;
* Revitalising central business districts; and
* Improving road safety and reducing road fatalities.

Earlier today, Acting Gauteng Premier Lebogang Maile tabled the Gauteng Department of Community Safety 2025/26 Annual Report, sharing key highlights of the Departments performance during the financial year.

Members of the Gauteng Traffic Police High Priority Crime Investigation Unit (HPCIAU), in collaboration with the Soweto Flying Squad, Sedibeng Tracking Team and Underguard Specialised Investigations, recovered a stolen vehicle during a joint operation.

Following information received about a silver Ford Wildtrak with Free State registration plates, officers were alerted to suspicious individuals who were allegedly removing the vehicle’s door panels and dashboard.

Members immediately proceeded to the identified location, where they found a vehicle matching the description. Upon their arrival, the vehicle had been abandoned.

The owner of the vehicle was contacted and confirmed that the vehicle had been stolen in Crown Mines.

Integrated Service Delivery Operations

MEC Jacob Mamabolo, explained that MECs responsible for different portfolios, together with key stakeholders, including Eskom, are present to address service delivery challenges raised by the community.

The MEC also highlighted that the province-wide Integrated Service Delivery Operations follow the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Integrated Cross-Boundary Law Enforcement Operations.

The second part of the Provincial Integrated Service Delivery Programme is the community Imbizo currently taking place at Khutsong Stadium.

The Imbizo is providing a platform for government, stakeholders and members of the community to engage on service delivery and safety concerns affecting communities within the Merafong region.
