DUO BUSTED WITH OVER R1 MILLION FAKE MONEY IN RABIE RIDGE

Police Officers from Gauteng Highway Patrol arrested two males between 48 and 56 years-old after they were found in possession of over 1 million counterfeit notes on Friday, 10 September 2021.

The duo was arrested at Modderfontein Road in Rabie Ridge.

The police were patrolling along Modderfontein Road when they spotted a suspicious white Toyota Hilux bakkie with two occupants.

Upon seeing the police vehicle the bakkie started driving faster. At an intersection the driver indicated right but turned left. The police turned on their sirens in an attempt to stop the vehicle.

When the vehicle eventually stopped. Constable Ncube and Constable Khumalo approached the vehicle and asked permission to search the vehicle and occupants.

While searching the police discovered a bunch of counterfeit R200 notes inside two school bags worth more than a million rand. The suspects both couldn’t account for the fake cash.

Both suspects are currently at the Rabie Ridge Police Station. They will appear at the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court on Monday.

LOCAL POLICE APPEAL FOR INFO TO SOLVE ROBBERY, MURDER INCIDENT IN KAALFONTEIN

Detectives from the Ivory Park SAPS are investigating a case of murder, attempted murder and house robbery at Kaalfontein on Monday night, 6 September 2021.

It is reported that a small group of people known to each other were seated, drinking and chatting when they were attacked by three armed men who told them to lie down.

“Without being provoked one of the three men shot two of the group members, one of whom died at the local clinic while the other victim was taken to hospital. “ said Ivory Park SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane.

“Only the cheapest phone and a television were taken but all the other cellular phones were not. Police are positive of finding out if the actual reason was pure robbery or wether there was more to this killing” added Matimulane.

The police are appealing to any member of the public to assist in identifying the perpetrators or provide any information that may assist the police.

Potential informants are reminded that all the information received will be treated with confidentiality.

“We have on many occasions solved many crimes with the assistance of the community without ever comprising their safety. We call on anyone with information to trust us as the victims deserve to know what the reasons for their loved ones murder and attempted murder is”, says Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS.

MURDER SUSPECT TRACED IN LIMPOPO

Ivory Park Police have on Thursday (20 May 2021) following months of information gathering, arrested an Ivory Park man for a murder he allegedly committed in December.

The 36 year old suspect assaulted another man whom he accused of being in a relationship with his girlfriend. He used a stone as an instrument of the assault, and stopped only when the deceased fainted. The deceased succumbed to his injuries about four days after the assault.

Shortly after the assault the suspect vanished from the Ivory Park policing precinct, but since then our detectives have been gathering information to establish his whereabout. It was finally established that he was in the Giyani area of Limpopo, where he was traced and eventually caught last week Thursday.

Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, the station commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, has applauded the two murder investigators for their continuing investigation into this murder, and the arrest that followed as a result of their efforts.

" The suspect has no choice, but to come here and account for his alleged transgression. The family of the victim deserve to know what exactly led to their loved one death, and the suspect is better placed to tell us," said Brigadier Ngcobo.

The suspect appeared in the Tembisa Magistrate Court on Monday, 24 May 2021.

SUSPECT IN A LOVE TRIANGLE MURDER HANDS HIMSELF TO THE IVORY PARK POLICE

A Tembisa man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting incident in Ivory Park on the first of the month has finally handed himself to the police. He was accompanied by his legal representative. He must have been aware that sooner or later the detectives from Ivory Park SAPS will finally locate him and bring him to account for his alleged involvement in the murder.

The suspect is alleged to have shot and killed a 44-year-old man from Extension 12, Ivory Park, on the morning of 1 April 2021. It is alleged that the suspect and the deceased were involved in a love triangle with the same lady. Both the suspect and the deceased are familiar with each other, and it is said that on the morning in question the suspect came to the deceased’s place, called out his name and, when the deceased came out, there was a brief scuffle and the two started to fight for the gun allegedly in possession of the suspect. The deceased was shot once on the abdomen and succumbed to his injuries a while later in hospital.

“Very soon after attending to the scene the police managed to gather all the evidence, followed the leads, which took them to the suspect’s place in Tembisa. The detectives assigned to the case believe they were on the verge of arresting him anyway, but welcome the fact that the suspect has handed himself over, albeit three weeks after the incident.” said Ivory Park SAPS Spokesperson, Captain Ben Matimulane.

The Station Commander of the Ivory Park SAPS, Brigadier David Mbongeni Ngcobo, said his officers have done a good job of exerting the necessary pressure on the suspect to a point that the suspect thought the best thing to do under the circumstances will be to hand himself over.

“The fact that he handed himself accompanied by his legal representative does not change the fact that we have a watertight case against him. Based on what I have been briefed on, I am confident that this man has a case to answer,” said Ngcobo.
The man is expected to appear in the Tembisa Magistrate’s Court today, 21 April 2021 or soon thereafter to face a charge of murder.
