MEC Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko conducted a meet and greet with our stakeholders post the Budget Vote.

The MEC proceeded with a walk about at the mini market where NPO’s were showcasing the work that they do which included Book authors, cordwainers, beedworkers and healthcare workers.

Gauteng Department of Social Development MEC Nomantu Nkomo Ralehoko tabled the 2026/27 Budget Vote Gauteng Provincial Legislature today.

Budget Allocation by Programme

“We are called upon to build a Gauteng that is more inclusive, more caring and more prosperous. We are called upon to strengthen social cohesion, expand economic opportunities and protect the most vulnerable members of our society. We are called
upon to build institutions that are capable of delivering meaningful change and creating
lasting impact”.

Earlier today, Magistrate Maggie Van Der Merwe postponed the case of Mrs Nonhlanhla Digoro to 01 July 2026 due to technical issues with recording machines.

were murdered by their alleged biological mother, Mrs Nonhlanhla Digoro last year.

Mrs Digoro has been charged with premeditated murder of Setshaba 10 years and Bothlale 8 years.

Members of the Gauteng Department of Social Development Men’s Forum as well at the Department’s Gender, Youth and Disability Mainstreaming officials rallied behind in support of the Family of Digoro for the trial of .

She remains in custody.
