Meet our Girl Crush Wednesday and recipient of the Gauteng Women’s Excellence Award Buhle Mthethwa

The ten-year-old author and Grade 5 learner is on a mission
to instill a culture of reading in her peers, one book at a time, starting with The Big Fat Naughty Cat, her first book.

Buhle developed an enthusiasm for reading in Grade 1. When she realised that some of her friends could not read properly, she started helping them after school, using books from the library while also running a book club for youngsters, aged between four and fourteen, from her family home.

She wants to encourage children to read and write from an early age.

Good luck to all the matriculants writing preliminary exams!

Meet our Girl Crush Wednesday Amohelang Molefi and Gugulethu Ngwenyama. They are both Grade 10 pupils and owners of Meraki, a magnifying glass company that thrives to enhance viewing.

Meraki competed against nine schools from across SA and they came top at this year's Juniour Achievement (JA) SA company of the year competition.

Amo and Gugu will be flying to Ghana to represent SA in the JA Africa Regional Company of the Year competition in December.

They are a true reflection of ordinary women doing extra-ordinary things. We salute them!
