🏫 Nancefield Primary School | Eldorado Park

The A-Team conducted a site inspection at Nancefield Primary School to monitor progress and ensure that outstanding construction, safety and quality issues are being addressed.

Good progress is being made, with work continuing on paving, fencing and gates, painting, ceilings, landscaping, plumbing, electrical installations and mechanical systems across the school.

The team also identified outstanding defects and safety concerns that require urgent attention, including exposed services, electrical cable routing and an excavation at the back of Block B.

The contractor has been instructed to fast-track the outstanding remedial works, safety requirements and fire compliance documentation as the project moves towards completion.

🏗️ Site Inspection at ROTARA LSEN School, Carletonville

The A-Team conducted a site inspection at ROTARA LSEN School to assess progress on the construction of this specialised school for learners with special educational needs.

Construction has shown improvement following previous delays, with roofing, electrical, plumbing, plastering, painting and other finishing works progressing across various buildings.

The Administration Block, Grade R Block and Woodwork Workshop are among the areas nearing completion, while work continues on the sports facilities, roadworks, underground cabling and street lighting.

⚠️ Progress remains behind programme, with reduced labour affecting production. The contractor is required to strengthen resources and improve productivity to recover delays. The Department is also engaging with the relevant parties to resolve the outstanding electricity bulk-service connection.

🏫 The A-Team will continue monitoring the project to ensure challenges are addressed and this important facility is delivered for learners and the Carletonville community.

Gauteng government takes Imbizo Wednesdays to Emfuleni

Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi, together with Members of the Executive Council (MECs) and local government leadership of and , will lead the Gauteng Provincial Government’s Imbizo Wednesdays at Ramaphosa Informal Settlement in Emfuleni Local Municipality.

The engagement will provide residents with an opportunity to engage directly with government on service delivery issues affecting the community, including sanitation, electricity and infrastructure, among others.

The provincial government will also provide feedback on ongoing interventions and engage with residents on matters requiring coordinated action.

🏗️ Savanna City Primary School| Site Inspection Update

The A-Team is on the ground at Savanna City Primary School, monitoring construction progress and ensuring that outstanding work is being addressed.

Roofing, plastering, painting, flooring, electrical and plumbing installations, paving, stormwater infrastructure and sports-field works are progressing across the site.

However, slow progress remains a concern, compounded by two days of rain delays.
The contractor has been directed to accelerate work and improve productivity, with focus on outstanding ceilings, roofing, plastering, glazing, carpentry and flooring.

The team will continue strengthening oversight to ensure accountability and improved delivery.

🏫 Site Inspection Update| Laerskool Generaal Nicolaas Smit, Hercules

The A-Team is continuing to monitor the renovation of Laerskool Generaal Nicolaas Smit in Hercules.

Good progress has been made, with several refurbished classroom blocks and the Administration Block completed. Learners have returned to these facilities, and teaching and learning is continuing. 👏🏽

Work is still underway in the remaining blocks, including electrical, plumbing, ceilings, tiling and painting. However, slow progress remains a concern. The contractor has been instructed to bring in more workers and strengthen supervision to speed up the outstanding work.

Safety remains a priority, with identified fire-safety, electrical and OHS matters requiring urgent attention.

The A-Team will continue monitoring the project to ensure that outstanding work is completed and learners have a safe and conducive environment to learn.

🏗️ A-Team Oversight at Sizuzile Primary School | Tsakane, Brakpan

The A-Team conducted a site inspection at Sizuzile Primary School to monitor construction progress, identify risks and ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.

Work is progressing on key activities, including stormwater drainage, sewer main lines, foundations, earthworks, brickwork, electrical installations and roofing.
Work is currently in progress, with the overall project making steady progress.

🌧️ The activities were affected by strong winds and rain. The project team will continue monitoring conditions and managing disruptions to keep the project moving.
