Centre of Science and Technology (COSAT) Centre of Science and Technology We are the first STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) School in the Western Cape.

The curriculum is aimed at Grade 8 - 12 learners, especially those with interest in the sciences, medical and engineering careers. We offer the following subjects: isiXhosa Home Language, Sesotho Home Language, English, Mathematics, IEB AP Mathematics, Physical Science, Life Science, Information Technology and Life Orientation

This is what dedication looks like. Last year our DWS team Zokufa, Tinzi & Maswana brought home 2nd Place Nationally for the Department of Water and Sanitation.

On Monday, 27 July 2026 they stepped up again at the 2026 Provincial Adjudication using their voices to advocate for water and sanitation.

COSAT Ranked No. 1 Quintile 3 No-Fee School in South Africa!

COSAT has been recognised as the Top Performing Public School in Quintile 3 (No-Fee Schools) in South Africa at the National Education Excellence Awards (NEEAs) 2026, hosted by the Department of Basic Education on 24 July 2026 in Sandton, Johannesburg.

This prestigious award is presented to schools that demonstrate excellence based on Quality Performance Indicators (QPI), a comprehensive measure that goes far beyond the matric pass rate.

The focus is on the quality of learner achievement, not merely the quantity of passes.

Schools are evaluated against a range of performance criteria, including:
• Overall matric pass rate
• Bachelor pass rate
• Number of subject distinctions
• Performance in key gateway subjects, including:
o Mathematics
o Physical Sciences
o Life Sciences
o Information Technology (IT)
