The ANCYL Provincial Executive Committee led by the Provincial Chairperson, Comrade Lihle Chalo together with the ANCYL Regional Executive Committee and ANC Branch leadership of Wards 01 and 10 in the Dr WB Rubusana Region, today conducted a voter registration and community mobilisation programme in Duncan Village Zone 01 & 10.

The programme commenced with a visit to East London High School, where young people were encouraged to register to vote and actively participate in the democratic processes of our country. As part of the visit, the delegation also donated sanitary towels to learners as a contribution towards supporting the dignity and well-being of young women in schools.

Thereafter, the leadership convened a community engagement in Ward 10, providing residents with an opportunity to raise community concerns and engage directly with the movement on issues affecting their daily lives. The engagement further emphasised the importance of voter registration and participation in the upcoming By-Elections.

Following the community engagement, the delegation embarked on a Door to Door campaign in the iGoli - Seven De Laan area, engaging residents, encouraging voter registration, and mobilising support ahead of the By-Elections.

The programme forms part of ongoing preparations for the upcoming By-Elections in Wards 01 and 10, as the movement intensifies its voter registration drive and community outreach efforts.

The ANCYL Eastern Cape Provincial 1st Deputy Secretary, comrade Yandisa Jubase, together with the ANC Regional Chairperson of the Nelson Mandela Region, comrade Babalwa Lobishe, participated in the successful convening of the ANCYL Regional Task Team Cadres Forum at the City Hall, Gqeberha.

The gathering also served as the formal introduction of the recently appointed ANCYL Regional Task Team (RTT) to branches, structures, and the broader membership of the movement within the region.

The forum brought together branches, activists, and leaders of the movement to engage on the critical tasks of organisational renewal, political education, and the role of young people in advancing the National Democratic Revolution during the current period.

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of building a united, disciplined, and ideologically grounded youth movement capable of responding to the challenges confronting young people and communities, while strengthening the organisation at all levels.
