I was in my early 20's.I remember the tall,dark,slender soldiers even commented'Yhu!ngabaphi aba? 'In less than 10 min we were about go to the match. Gun shorts (AK47/Machine Guns/Mratata) It was was like an earthquake .The windows of the house were making a sound so were the walls.We were on our knees & tummies,rolled down the passage.After 10-15 minutes of silence we peeped only to see dust everywhere. ✊🏽✊🏽

Today marks the 29th commemoration of the fateful Bhisho Massacre that shocked the world on 07 September 1992 when the then Ciskei Bantustan security forces under the command of Brigadier Oupa Joshua Gqozo opened fire on 80 000 peaceful protesters who demanded change and an end of apartheid.

28 South Africans lost their lives at the hands of the brutal and oppressive regime. Those selfless patriots contributed to attainment of freedom and democracy in our lifetime.

May their revolutionary souls rest in eternal peace.
