The Matlosana Service Delivery Movement (MSDM), following internal consideration and as part of strengthening its service delivery capacity, has resolved to field Cadre Freddy Arnold Mphasane as its Councillor Candidate for Ward 11.

This decision forms part of MSDM’s commitment to building a capable, community-rooted team focused on responsive, accountable and people-centred service delivery.

MSDM calls upon the community of Ward 11 to support Cadre Freddy Arnold Mphasane and vote for MSDM on 4 November 2026.

Public Announcement | Matlosana Service Delivery Movement is registered for the 2026 Local Government Elections

The Matlosana Service Delivery Movement (MSDM) is proud to announce that we have officially been registered as a political party and are eligible to participate in the 2026 Local Government Elections.

This registration puts to rest the false claims and misinformation that the Matlosana Service Delivery Movement was not registered. We remain committed to serving the people of Matlosana with honesty, integrity, and accountability.

Matlosana is for the people of Matlosana.

If your current political party is frustrating you, neglecting you, or preventing you from serving your community despite you being the community's preferred choice, you are welcome to join the Matlosana Service Delivery Movement.

As a locally based political movement, we have no national, provincial, regional, or subregional structures that delay decision-making and service to our communities. Our focus is solely on the people of Matlosana and ensuring that local issues receive local solutions.

We are local. We are the Matlosana Service Delivery Movement—authentic, reliable, and committed to putting the people of Matlosana first.

Matlosana Service Delivery Movement | Mr. Kgotso Sindi Matlosana Service Delivery Movement mayor candidate and spokes person was visiting SASSA offices in the Klerksdorp CBD. He is flanked by Mr. Lasie Sekgothe (Deputy Chairperson) and Bhuti Jordaan (MSDM Executive member)

The purpose of their visit was to deliver a memorundum demanding the urgent and immediate stop of the harassment of indigent families, and to provide reasons and evidence for unjust SRD grant exclusions.

MSDM demands the following as per their memorundum

1. Immediate Cessation of all forms of harassment and persecution of indigent families using grants for funeral expenses.

2. Full transparency and accountability: SASSA must, within 14days,provide written reasons and concrete evidence to every unemployed person denied the SRD Grant on the basis of "source of income identified"

3. Restoration of benefits: All deserving applicants wrongly excluded must have their grant reinstated with immediate effect, backdated to the date of exclusion.

4. Independent appeal mechanism: Establishment of a fair, accessible and independent appeal process for all SRD exclusions.

Comrade Rothman brings with him a demonstrable track record of conscientious leadership, community commitment, and extensive experience that will strengthen the work and vision of MSDM.

His decision to join MSDM is a testament to the growing confidence in a political movement that is rooted in the lived experiences of our communities. MSDM exists to represent the people where they live, where they struggle, and where they experience the day-to-day workings of our hard-earned democracy.

This moment represents the reshaping and refocusing of how neglected communities must be represented through accountable, community-based leadership that places residents at the centre of decision-making.

Matlosana Service Delivery Movement | The planned Presidential Visit at Lofadal has exposed the ANC’s continued abuse of state platforms for narrow political interests. Access to the NCOP outreach event has allegedly been limited to ANC loyalists, friends and relatives, while broader communities of the City of Matlosana were excluded from meaningful participation.

To date, the NCOP has not publicly communicated the criteria or transparent process used to grant access to this engagement. This raises serious concerns about fairness, transparency and whether this was truly a people-centered oversight visit or merely a staged political gathering.

The NCOP is a constitutional institution meant to represent the aspirations and voices of all communities not an extension of the ANC campaign machinery. Communities facing collapsing infrastructure, sewer spillages, unemployment and service delivery failures deserve genuine engagement, not a rented crowd assembled for optics and applause.

If government truly wants to hear the people, then access must be open, inclusive and representative of the real conditions experienced by ordinary residents of KOSH.

Media Commentary | Matlosana Service Delivery Movement has commented on the visit of President Cyril Ramaphosa on Friday 15 May 2026 for Parliament's NCOP outreach programme "Taking Parliament To The People " Which is scheduled to take place from 12 May 2026 to 15 May 2026.

The City of Matlosana Local Municipality will be the host City for the Dr Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality in Stilfontein at Spirit Word Church.
