Kraantzkloof
Situated about 4km from kloof Central, it’s a spectacular drive even on the way there, trees cover like a canopy over the roads and as you get closer to the Reserve that was established by the Natal Parks Board in 1950 and now managed by the Ezemvelo KZN wildlife board, you get greeted with friendly security guards giving you direction and permit to enter
I was stunned by the beauty
of this magical place, mainly because it has two river gorges that meet, the Molweni and Nkutu river , Most of the Reserves 584 hectares is covered by dense forest and vegetation, its truly the best example of a coastal forest I have ever seen. The reserve has abundance of wildlife over 200 species of birds including white & Egyptian mongoose, zebra, bushbuck, monkeys, blue, red and grey duiker, rock hyrax, and a variety of indigenous flora. Kraantzkloof also offers a picnic area next to the dam at kloof falls, and you can also hire the area for functions. if you are a wedding photographer, it’s the ideal place to go as it has two well marked view sites
