Hanging Hope This is an initiative to give people with nothing their own businesses to provide for themselves. Set up and running costs are minimal.

Many of South Africa's problems stem from the fact that so many people are unemployed and unable to look after themselves financially. This initiative takes a very simple concept and puts it into the hands of the unemployed to create and own their own businesses. Success is dependent on the individual's own efforts and entrepreneurial skills. The target market is huge, from casual gardeners, garde

ning centres to restaurants. The lower end of the market is as basic as being an opportunity for shack and township dwellers to grow their own vegetables without having to till scare land. In short, this initiative encapsulates 'Hope.'
