The South African Students Congress dips its revolutionary banner in mourning of the passing on of SASCO’s National Deputy President, Comrade Buyile Matiwane.
Buyile Matiwane was raised in a small rural town called Engcobo, in the Eastern Cape.In the largest and most established student movement in Africa, the South African Student Congress (SASCO), he is the writer with the most publications. He actively participated in activist groups that worked to improve South Africa. We will remember him for his enthusiasm and his excellent negotiating skills
We salute him for his dedication and unwavering commitment to the national democratic revolution.
SASCO LESEGO RACOCO REGION conveys its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire mass democratic movement. We hope they will find solace in the knowledge that the organization shares in their grief. We wish them strength and fortitude as they mourn their loved one.
As SASCO we say to the family and the entire membership of our Alliance, Cdre has not died; but joins the living in ideas. His political leadership and dedication to the cause will serve as glue that keeps our movement intact in the midst of the thunderous political storm that we find ourselves in.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to the entire membership of SASCO in Lesego Racoco Region and beyond on the passing away of our deputy president comrade Buyile Matiwane. We further send our gratitude to his family, friends and relatives for having borrowed us this illustrious cadre of our revolution. Comrade Buyile was a selfless revolutionary who served SASCO with distinction and utmost organisational discipline. He was an outstanding internationalist who advanced progressive internationalism and prioritised the ideological development of the membership rank of SASCO across the length and breadth of South Africa.

Revolutionary Student Movement mourns the passing of the former SASCO DSG Cde Bigo Mathe

The South African Students Congress (SASCO) has learnt with sadness of the untimely passing of its former Deputy Secretary General (DSG), Comrade Bigo Mathe, the organization sends its deepest condolences to his friends and family.

The organization is yet to meet the family to get more on logistics for both the Memorial Service and Funeral arrangements.

Comrade Bigo is part of the generation of student activists that led during one of the most difficult periods in the history of higher education. SASCO salutes his commitment to seeing through the process of mergers successfully. As the current generation we shall take the baton where he left off.

Comrade Mathe dedicated his life to the service of his people and the Mass Democratic Movement as he was elected Deputy Secretary General of SASCO and later served as the National Organizer of the ANCYL under the 25th NEC.

We wish to send our deepest condolences to his Friends, Family and Comrades. Hamba kahle Mkhonto!
