MEC Sello Lehari, together with the North West Department of Health Executive Management, joined community members, local leadership and stakeholders in commemorating Mandela Day at Tshwene’s Farm in the Moretele Sub-District.

The Tshela Ka Itekanelo 1.1 Million Close the Gap Campaign formed part of the programme, bringing integrated healthcare services directly to the community while promoting healthy lifestyles and encouraging residents to know their health status.

As part of the day’s activities, MEC Lehari handed over cements and paint materials to Christ the Rock of Glory Church to support refurbishment efforts and uphold the spirit of service championed by Nelson Mandela.

The event demonstrated that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to transform lives and strengthen communities.

The North West Department of Health Superintendent General Dr Matshego led Health activities during the , Accelerated Service Delivery program in Boikhutso township today in Lichtenburg.

This Ditsobotla Local Municipality bound activities were held at Boikhutso clinic where beneficiaries received various assistive devices. To also deliver on the promise made by MEC Sello Lehari at a recent Tshela Ka Itekanelo event in the area, a specicialized wheelchair was delivered to a delighted family of a child living with cerebral palsy.

The Special Programmes Directorate, hosted the AYFS Activation and Mental Health Awareness Campaign in the Madibeng Sub-District which marked the official launch and handover of the Youth Zone Room at Madibeng Main Clinic.

Learners from Central Secondary School joined the activation, where they were introduced to the services available through the Youth Zone. The dedicated space will provide young people with access to healthcare information, counselling, mental health support and other youth-friendly services in a safe and welcoming environment.
Other government departments in attendance were SAPS, Social Development, Correctional Services and representatives from Soul City for the duration of the campaign and activation.

This initiative forms part of the department’s ongoing commitment to ensuring that no young person is left behind in accessing quality healthcare services.

The North West Department of Health, in collaboration with the National Department of Health, convened a Public Health Emergency Management (PHEM) Training aimed at strengthening the Province’s preparedness, coordination and response to public health emergencies. The training formed part of ongoing efforts to enhance health security and build resilient systems capable of effectively managing disease outbreaks, disasters and other public health threats.
