OPEN LETTER TO PAUL THEMBA NYATHI – ZRP NATIONAL SPOKESPERSON
Dear Paul Themba Nyathi,
This is not just a letter it is a public demand for accountability.
We write to you regarding a serious criminal incident involving Luckmore Tinashe Gapa, a ZANU PF Central Committee member, who was clearly captured on camera at the City Sports Centre stealing and fleeing with the mobile phone of prominent human rights lawyer, Doug Coltart.
The evidence is in the public domain. Zimbabweans have seen it. The world has seen it.
Yet, under your watch as the national spokesperson of the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), there has been deafening silence.
No arrest.
No statement.
No action.
Inspector Nyathi, your silence is not neutral it is complicity.
It reinforces the growing belief that the ZRP is no longer serving the people of Zimbabwe, but is instead shielding politically connected individuals from facing the consequences of their actions.
This is a direct challenge to your office:
Will you uphold the law, or will you continue to protect lawbreakers?
We demand the immediate arrest of Luckmore Tinashe Gapa within 24 hours of this letter.
Failure to act will leave citizens with no option but to exercise their lawful right to effect a citizens’ arrest and deliver the suspect to Harare Central Police Station.
Zimbabweans are not blind. Zimbabweans are not afraid. And Zimbabweans are no longer willing to tolerate selective application of the law.
The badge you represent must stand for justice not silence.
The nation is watching.
Your response, or lack thereof, will define your legacy.
