FINAL VOTER REGISTRATION WEEKEND

The SASCO AN COSAS Mpumalanga Provincial Chairperson*, *Coordinator of the Young Women’s Desk Cde Naledi Shongwe and Treasurer General of COSAS* are today leading a *Res to Res* campaign in the MSUKALIGWA Sub-region.

The campaign is mobilizing students, young people, and communities to *register, verify, and update* their voter registration details. Our aim is to ensure that every eligible young South African is ready to make their mark in the *November 2026 Local Government Elections*.

As the student movement, we believe that voter registration is the first step toward shaping the future of our communities, our schools, and our country. We call on all youth and first-time voters to come out in numbers and register.

Today, SASCO members at the University of Mpumalanga (Siyabuswa Campus) conducted a door-to-door voter registration campaign as part of the ongoing mobilisation for the upcoming Local Government Elections. Members visited student residences

Midcal Campus

SASCO members at Midcal Campus also conducted a voter registration programme as part of the ongoing mobilisation campaign. The programme focused on encouraging students, especially first-time voters, to register to vote and verify their registration details.

Members engaged with students across the campus, educating them on the importance of participating in the upcoming Local Government Elections and ensuring that they exercise their constitutional right to vote. The programme received positive support from students and contributed to strengthening voter participation on campus.
