The branch of the ANC YL is a basic and most important unit of the organisation as this is where the organisation exists. It is a point where the organisation is in daily contact with the youth and their daily struggles, which the league must lead to resolve them. This simply means the branches that exist, lives and operate with and amongst the youth to resolve their problems and better their conditions.

Politically the ANCYL is the youth organ of the ANC charged with the mobilisation of youth behind the vision of the ANC and as well championing the youth interests in the ANC and society in general. In line with our role as the political and a training organ for Cadreship and leadership for the movement the ANCYL also has a responsibility to build and dynamise the ANC at all levels. This include production of new, vibrant and creative ideas and how the movement tackles problems confronting society and the consolidation of the National Democratic Revolution.

In summary the interest will never be championed as long as young people are not in key positions of the ANC motherboard. We need to change the status core of our branches and many of our branches are made up of the youth majority, with the 100 membership that makes up a branch of the ANCYL we can absolutely change it.

Young people will never be advocated for in the space of work or business as long as the ANC is not led by 60% of young people ( 50+ of the ANC membership is our next stop)

FIRST CASE OF CHOLERA IN MPUMALANGA PROVINCE CONFIRMED.

The Department of Health in Mpumalanga has. Confirmed an investigation of a possible case of Cholera in the province.

A 73 years female patient who is residing at Phaphamang Section in Phake – Dr JS Moroka, was admitted at Mmametlhake hospital on the 26 May 2023 with diarrhea, nausea and vomiting after eating tin fish during the day.

She was a known patient on hypertension treatment.Cholera sample was taken and forwarded to laboratory for investigation. Interim result showed cholera positive.

Final result confirmed that the patient is indeed Cholera positive.

The patient unfortunately demised yesterday the 30 of May 2023 at the hospital.

The Department of Health has deployed Outbreak Response Team in Dr JS Moroka to :

• Investigating possible sources of infection and contact tracing

• Conduct intensive ommunity awareness campaigns

Communities are advised to be on high alert of cholera.

Cholera is one of the diarrhoe diseases caused by bacteria called vibrio cholera.

Symptoms:
Sudden diarrhoea, which is painless, watery diarrhoea (rice stool), nausea and vomiting, and fever among children, and some individuals do not feel ill

The disease spreads through ingestion/drinking of contaminated ​water with human faeces .

The illness may start from few hours to 5 days of infection.Anyone who presents with diarrhoea, nausea, and vomiting should immediately seek medical assistance to the local health facility.
