Provincial Infrastructure Agenda

The delivery of infrastructure is identified as a growth catalyst to achieve development imperatives. It is for this reason that this has been the fulcrum of the current government over the 23 year period, anchored on the principles of social equality, poverty alleviation and employment generation. This responsibility has been given to the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport which acts as an implementing agent for a number of client departments and is therefore at the centre of the provincial infrastructure agenda. On 29 May 2024, we have the power to shape the course of history, to reaffirm our commitment to progress, and to honor the legacy of those who fought tirelessly for our freedom.

The African National Congress (ANC) has been the bedrock of our democracy since that historic day in 1994 when millions of South Africans cast their ballots for the first time. We stood united, transcending racial divides, and chose hope over fear, unity over discord, and justice over oppression. Together, we dismantled apartheid, and Nelson Mandela emerged as a beacon of hope, a symbol of resilience and reconciliation.

But today, we find ourselves at a crossroads. The ANC, our party of liberation, faces challenges. We acknowledge the disillusionment that some of you feel, the unmet promises, the persistent inequalities, and the frustrations that gnaw at our collective spirit. We hear you, and we pledge to do better for the people of South Africa.
