The City of Mbombela celebrated its Long Service Awards at Emnotweni Arena, recognising employees for their dedicated service to the municipality and its communities.

Acting Executive Mayor, MMC, Cllr Phumzile Mashigo, congratulated the recipients for their loyalty, commitment and valuable contribution to service delivery. The awards honoured employees with service ranging from five to over 45 years.

Special recognition was given to employees who have reached the 40-year milestone. Their dedication and perseverance continue to inspire new employees and reflect the City’s appreciation for those who have served its communities with distinction.

This milestone could only be achieved through dedication and perseverance. These two qualities have become very scarce in today's workforce.
We are even happier that with our limited financial resources, we are still able to celebrate our employees' achievement every year consistently as we value their contribution and their services to our people.

NOTICE: RESUMPTION OF RIMERS CREEK WATER TREATMENT PLANT OPERATIONS

The Municipality wishes to inform all residents and stakeholders that operations at the water treatment plant have resumed following the precautionary closure at the raw water intake point.

Plant operations had been temporarily suspended due to ongoing illegal mining activities close to raw water intake, which affected the treatment process with suspicions of contamination.

Continuous testing and monitoring has confirmed that the raw water quality is at acceptable levels, allowing the treatment process to resume safely and effectively.

Water production has recommenced, and treated water will gradually be restored throughout the distribution network. Consumers may experience temporary low pressure or intermittent supply while reservoirs refill and the system stabilises.

The Municipality appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of all residents during this period. Water quality and plant performance will continue to be closely monitored to ensure that the water supplied complies with the required drinking water quality standards. The law enforcements is doing their utmost to protect the national key point.

NOTICE: Electricity Interruption Due to Cable Theft

Residents of Emjindini Township, particularly Phumula, Longhomes, Extension 9 and Extension 6, are currently without electricity due to cable theft that occurred overnight. Our electricians are on site and actively working to repair the fault.

Unfortunately, the theft has caused significant damage to the mini-substations, which may delay full restoration of supply.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience and appeal to residents for patience while repairs continue.

Community members are also urged to report any suspicious activity related to cable theft or vandalism to the relevant authorities to help prevent further damage.
