STATEMENT OF THE ANCYL WARD 07 ON 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM FOR NO VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN
The African National Congress Youth League (ANCYL) Ward 07 joins the global community in commemorating the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, from November 25 to December 10.
As the youth league of the African National Congress, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting the elimination of violence and abuse against women and children. We recognize the devastating impact of gender-based violence on our community and the need for collective action to prevent and respond to this scourge.
We call upon all members of our community to join us in condemning gender-based violence and promoting a culture of respect, tolerance, and non-violence. Let us work together to create an environment where women and children can live without fear of violence and abuse.
During this campaign, we emphasize the importance of addressing the root causes of gender-based violence. Furthermore, we demand that our justice system denies bail to perpetrators of GBV, ensuring they face the full might of the law.
Let us rise in action to create a community free of violence and abuse, especially against women and children. We must work together to ensure that our community is safe and supportive for all.
