Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre Registered Child and Youth Care Centre (previously known as Children's Home) in Meyerton for abused and neglected children aged from 3 years to 18 years.

Lerato CYCC is a Non-profit organisation, dependant on the support & love from the community. Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre (“Lerato CYCC”) was founded in March 2005. The establishment of the home was motivated by the need of care and shelter for destitute and neglected children and babies. Lerato CYCC was finally registered as a Child and Youth Care Centre by the Department of Social Develop

ment in October 2007.

‘Lerato’ is the Sesotho word for LOVE and at Lerato CYCC we believe that ‘Love covers a multitude of sins’. It heals the broken hearted and restores souls. Children are always the victims of economic struggle and household problems, often to the extent where Department of Social Development needs to intervene. Lerato CYCC seeks to provide a home where children of all ages can grow up in a family environment and strives to make a positive difference in their lives. The Lerato Team has years of experience in providing a safe place of care for destitute and neglected children. Every child in our home becomes a member of our family and is introduced into the Lerato community where they are loved, educated and protected whether temporary or permanent. We strive to create public awareness of the needs and rights of children, as well as the responsibility of organisations, and to create a nurturing environment for children. This includes a close liaison with Child Welfare and other organisations to provide the best for our children and our community. Lerato CYCC is registered as a non-profit organisation and the funding we received from the Department of Social Development is limited and may only be used for day to day living expenses. We are currently registered to house 20 children in our organisation. These children need a lot of love and care. We ask that you please open your hearts and support our worthy cause. Every little bit will help us reach our goal. No donation is too small. We are also registered with SARS as an PBO and can provide you with a Section 18A certificate for all qualifying donations received. Your support will show children that have known hardship and heartache, that there is hope in this world. We thank God for the inspiration and grace received to establish Lerato and we trust that He will continue to inspire the hearts of His people to love and support our children. Gister was n besonderse emosionele dag by Lerato Child and Youth Care Centre . Ons het gelag en gehuil en saam het ons vir ons legende tannie/ouma Kathy Blignaut geseën met haar nuwe hoofstuk.

Alles was pienk, net soos sy daarvan hou. Pienk simboliseer ook 'nuwe begin' en dit was gepas om die Nuwe Begin met n pienkfees af te skop.

Tannie Kathy is deel van Lerato se DNA en haar legende by ons leef voort. Ons sien uit na 'ouma Kathy kuier' dae en al gaan ons (en doen ons reeds) haar baie mis, weet ons die Here het n mooi nuwe hoofstuk in gedagte.

Lerato Child & Youth Care Centre NPO is looking for a dedicated, caring and responsible **Child & Youth Care Worker (CYCW)** to join our team in **Meyerton, Gauteng**.

💗 **Shift:** 1 week on (Sleep in), 1 week off

We are looking for someone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people and who is committed to working within a Christian environment.

**The ideal candidate must have:**

✅ Registered Auxiliary CYCW with **SACSSP registration up to date**
✅ Code 8 Driver’s Licence (PDP will be an advantage)
✅ Previous experience as a CYCW in a CYCC
✅ Must understand **Afrikaans**
✅ Non-smoker
✅ References will be checked
✅ Form 30 DSD and Department of Justice clearances, including **Child Offender & S*x Offender clearances**
✅ Strong **Christian values**
