As we close off Women’s Month, CATHSSETA looks back on a beautiful day of wellness, adventure, laughter and sisterhood.

On 21 August 2026, our ladies stepped away from the emails, deadlines and daily demands to reconnect with themselves and each other at the CATHSSETA Women’s Month Corporate Wellness Hike at Rosemary Hill, Pretoria.

From the great outdoors and refreshing conversations to laughter, good food and unforgettable memories, the day was a reminder that taking care of ourselves is not a luxury — it is essential.

To all the incredible women of CATHSSETA: keep showing up, keep supporting one another, keep growing and keep making your mark.

As Women’s Month comes to an end, may we carry its spirit forward every day — celebrating women, empowering women and creating spaces where women can thrive.

Happy Women’s Month!

Together with McDonald’s South Africa, we have welcomed 2,370 young people into the second cohort of the Hospitality Learnership Programme — equipping them with practical skills, workplace experience and a pathway towards employment.

And the call is clear: EMPLOYERS, OPEN THE DOORS!

Higher Education and Training Minister Mr Buti Manamela has urged employers across the hospitality, tourism and retail sectors to create meaningful workplace opportunities for young people and give them the chance to turn their qualifications into careers.

With 70% practical workplace experience and 30% classroom learning, this programme puts young people where the real learning happens — in the workplace!

The impact is already being felt. More than 400 learners from the first cohort were permanently absorbed by McDonald’s, with many others progressing into employment across the hospitality sector.

At CATHSSETA, we believe that skills + opportunity = transformation.

Let’s keep opening doors, creating opportunities and building a skilled workforce for South Africa! 🇿🇦
