Cresset House is a care facility in Midrand, South Africa that offers residential and work facilities to adults who are living with intellectual disabilities.

Cresset House is a community which provides a 'home away from home' for adults living with intellectual disabilities. There is always a hive of activity in our community. From our villagers daily activities, to corporates and small business investing their time to us through partnerships, social initiatives and sustainability projects. Founded in 1961 on a large property in Carlswald, Kyalami, ini

tially as a school for children with intellectual disabilities Cresset decided t meet the increasing demand for facilities offering care to adults with intellectual disabilities by changing the focus of its facility. Today we have over 50 villagers who form part of our family, and together we live in on a property situated in Glen Austin, Midrand. Our community is home to villagers from a diversity of cultures and nationalities, making Cresset House a place of warmth, stimulation and nurture for those that call it home.

To celebrate World Environment Day, Cresset hosted our very first Upcycled Fashion Show!

After learning about the history of this vital day (celebrated since 1973), our Villagers let their imaginations run wild in our workshops. Guided by our staff, they transformed everyday items that would have polluted the earth into stunning clothes and accessories.

It was a marvelous day of creativity, laughter, and sustainable fashion!

Charlene, the way you walk alongside our residents with such grace and care reminds us daily why we exist. Lauwrence, you keep the heart of this place beating - nothing works without you. Jasmyn, the joy and purpose you bring to the workshop floor is truly a gift. Kwena, your diligence and precision keep us grounded and accountable. Jean, your compassion, and expertise give our residents and their families such peace of mind. Marge, your dedication behind the scenes ensures we can keep doing what we love.

We are not just a facility - we are a family, and you are the reason our residents wake up every morning feeling seen, valued, and loved. 💛

The air is still buzzing at Cresset as we reflect on the success of our Talent Show! Today we are showcasing our group performers.

A massive, heartfelt thank you to our incredible panel of Judges. Your encouragement and warm smiles brought an extra sparkle to the day and made our villagers feel like true superstars.

We also owe a huge thank you to our Videographer. Thank you for capturing every laugh and special moment, allowing us to savor these beautiful highlights forever.
