The inaugural Somkhanda MTB wilderness trail hosted by Africa4Wild camps, in collaboration with Africa4Africa Somkhanda Big 5 Tourism and Wildside Magazine went off to a successful start this past weekend.

A total number of 8 wild riders descended on Somkhanda for a treat in the bush. This was a 2 nights and 3 day adventure where riders were accommodated at the new Africa4Wild campsite. Their meals were mouth watering and hearty bush inspired South African meals which were loved by all.

Riders were treated to guided rides in the African sun as well as bush walks.

Huge thanks to and the team for sending these beautiful images.

All funds generated through this unique tourism offering will be reinvested back into the reserve and community members employed in this operation.

We were excited to serve our first milkshakes at Somkhanda Big 5 Community Reserve yesterday 🧡

The Khululeka Restuarant ( which means ' Feel at Home ' ) opened this Friday and although we have not perfected The Somkhanda Hamburger yet, we proud ourselves in our venison pies, malva pudding, chocolate brownies and milkshakes!! Our menu is simple, homemade and tasty 😋
We prefer when you book your self catering stay at Somkhanda to let's us know ahead if you will be ordering a meal with us ...until we get our feet firmly on the ground we prefer pre orders 🧡🧡
