📷 | The North West Provincial Treasury, in collaboration with COGTA and SALGA, is hosting Day 2 of the Municipal Revenue Management Forum to strengthen the financial health of municipalities across the province.

The forum brings together key stakeholders to discuss practical solutions that improve revenue collection, strengthen financial governance, and ensure municipalities have the resources needed to deliver quality services to communities. By working together, we can build financially sustainable municipalities that are better equipped to meet the needs of our people.

‼️ The Revenue Management Forum seeks to:
• Strengthen the implementation and enforcement of municipal Credit Control and Debt Collection Policies and By-Laws.
• Improve municipal revenue collection through enhanced billing accuracy, debtor management and revenue protection measures.
• Facilitate collaboration amongst municipalities, Provincial Treasury, SALGA, AGSA and government departments in addressing outstanding debt owed to municipalities.
• Share best practices and practical interventions that contribute towards improved audit outcomes, funded budgets and long-term financial sustainability.

Together, we are strengthening municipal finances to improve service delivery for the people of the North West.🤝

Strong municipalities begin with strong revenue management.

The North West Provincial Treasury, in collaboration with COGTA and SALGA, is hosting the Municipal Revenue Management Forum to strengthen the financial health of municipalities across the province.

The forum brings together key stakeholders to discuss practical solutions that improve revenue collection, strengthen financial governance, and ensure municipalities have the resources needed to deliver quality services to communities. By working together, we can build financially sustainable municipalities that are better equipped to meet the needs of our people.

📷 | The Provincial Supply Chain team this week is bringing essential services directly to the people of Greater Taung through CSD and North West Business Enterprise Database (NWBED) outreach programme. The programme commenced today at Sekhing Tribal Hall and will continue at Magogong - Dipitsing Community Hall on 24 July 2026, and Taung Depot Hall on 25 July 2026. The initiative aims to improve access to supplier registration and business support services for local communities and enterprises.

Youth and the LGBTQI+ community are encouraged to attend in large numbers to receive assistance with the following services:
* New Registrations: Supporting entrepreneurs to register on the CSD and NWBED systems.
* Profile Updates: Assisting existing businesses to update their information (such as address verification) to remain compliant and eligible for government procurement opportunities.
* Compliance Support: Treasury officials will provide guidance on requirements, including Tax Compliance Status (PIN) and CIPC annual returns.

Business owners and NPOs are reminded that, to register on the CSD, the following documents are required:
* Company registration number (CIPC)
* Valid tax clearance certificate
* Valid B-BBEE certificate
* Bank account details
* Proof of address
* NPO registration number (for NPOs)

📷 | Young people attending the Provincial Treasury Youth Summit gained valuable insights into career pathways, skills development and employment opportunities across key sectors, including finance and accounting, the public service, media and information and communication technologies.

SETAs encouraged learners to pursue qualifications aligned with the Fourth Industrial Revolution and to prepare for future oriented careers. Opportunities highlighted included learnerships, internships and bursaries in fields such as information technology, electronics, film and media.

Ms Gosego Melamu from SAQA highlighted the importance of recognised qualifications and understanding the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). She encouraged learners to verify that institutions are registered and accredited before enrolling and cautioned against unregistered institutions, noting that recognised qualifications improve access to further education and employment opportunities.
