Weekend Tour Guide Volunteer Program

For school learners, students & gap year students aged 16–24

The Western Cape Butterfly Sanctuary is opening up a unique weekend volunteer opportunity for young people who want to gain real experience, build confidence, and learn valuable people skills.

Selected learners and students will be trained as tour guides at the Sanctuary, where they will learn how to welcome guests, present butterfly tours, work with the public, and be part of a real tourism environment.

There will also be opportunities to earn commission and tips from tours, as well as tips while helping as waiters at the restaurant.

This is perfect for young people who are:
• Friendly and confident
• Interested in nature, tourism, animals, or conservation
• Looking for weekend experience
• Taking a gap year and wanting practical experience
• Keen to learn, grow, and earn while gaining valuable skills

Training will be provided.

Ages: 16–24
Location: Western Cape Butterfly Sanctuary, Ruiterbosch
Under 18s will require parent/guardian consent.

Limited spaces available.

As some of you may know the sanctuary suffered serious roof damage due to the severe winds. We would like to commence repairs ASAP but we need to get quotes from contractors wrt the repaired. Attached is a bill of quantity for the resources we need, labour and other cost will also need to be included in the qoute.

We would highly appreciate any contractors that could finalise this qoute for us.
