The Surfer Kids NON-Profit

The Surfer Kids NON-Profit The Surfer Kids is a registered Non-Profit Organisation 136-987 NPO. Our mission is to "empower marginalised youths through surfing" And more.

THE SURFER KIDS CORE SURF PROGRAMME has been offering free surf lessons to the marginalised youths in the Southern Cape of South Africa since November 2010. Our Core Surfing Programme is based at Diaz Beach in Mossel Bay. The primary focus of our CORE SURF PROGRAMME is introducing young children to surfing. Surfing isn't otherwise normally practised in Friemersheim, or any of the other surrounding

marginalised communities. The children are introduced to surfing as a healthy way of having fun! As the children grow within the programme they are encouraged to progress. To paddle to the back-line and surf bigger and better waves. This is no easy task, as anyone who's ever tried surfing will know. Learning to paddle and catch waves takes a lot of hard work. But the reward of riding waves is one of the best feelings a human being can experience !!! This allows for the unique medium of surfing to teach one of the most fundamental and empowering life skills of all: Life may be full of limitations. BUT, by working towards a goal, with commitment, one can accomplish incredible things. Despite our limitations, whatever they may be, as long as we have great goals, if we're prepared to work for it, we can achieve what we've only ever dreamt of. This is the message of hope and empowerment around which we structure our entire programme.

🌊 BIG NEWS FROM OUR SURF PROGRAM! πŸ‡ΏπŸ‡¦πŸ„β€β™‚οΈ

We’re incredibly proud to share that Inam Falteni, a long-time participant in our Surf Program, has been selected for the South African Junior Surfing Squad! πŸ™Œ

The team will compete in the Junior World Surfing Games later this year, and Inam has earned a place as a non-travelling reserve. This means he’ll be part of the national squad training and preparation, stepping in should another team member be unable to attend the tournament.

This is a huge achievement for Inam and a proud moment for our entire community. It’s also a powerful validation of the hard work, dedication, and commitment that has gone into building the competitive side of our surf program over the years.

Inam’s journey is an inspiration to the younger surfers coming through our program.

Please join us in congratulating Inam Falteni on this outstanding accomplishment! πŸ‘πŸ”₯

We are incredibly fortunate to have this amazing crew as part of the TSK family. When the waves aren't ideal for the older and more experienced kids, they never hesitate to jump in and help the younger surfers. Whether it's pushing them onto waves, helping them get out to the backline, or simply encouraging them in the water, they do it all with enthusiasm and big smiles.

Their willingness to support, mentor, and look after the next generation of surfers is something truly special. They embody the spirit of teamwork, kindness, and community that makes TSK such a great place to be.

Today, we want to take a moment to say thank you to each and every one of you. We see your efforts, we appreciate your dedication, and we are incredibly proud of the positive example you set both in and out of the water.

What an amazing group of young people we have at TSK. Keep being legends! πŸŒŠπŸ€™πŸ’™

With our local beach still closed after the damage caused by the recent storm, it's been tough for the kids not being able to surf. Diaz has always been the perfect spot for beginner surfers to learn and build confidence in the water.

This past Saturday, we headed over to Santos Beach to get everyone active again and back in the ocean. We spent the day swimming, running, and the little ones even managed to catch a few waves. πŸŒŠπŸ„β€β™‚οΈβ˜€οΈ

Days like these remind us how much we appreciate our coastline and the incredible surf community around us. We can't wait for things to get back to normal so we can enjoy our local beach again. Until then, we'll keep making the most of every opportunity to get the kids in the water. πŸ€™

Hot porridge for breakfast before the groms hit the surf. πŸŒŠπŸ„β€β™‚οΈ

It’s going to be a long day of surfing and skating for our kids today, and we’re so grateful they can start it with a warm, nutritious meal.

A huge thank you to for their continued support in helping us ensure our kids stay well fed throughout the year. Your generosity makes a real difference in their lives. πŸ’™
